Miller Motorsports Park will cease operations on October 31 this year, Desert News is reporting.
In a statement released by the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies owner, Gail Miller, she said, “On behalf of my family, I would like to thank all of those who have supported the track over the years, both locally and worldwide, for their enthusiasm and use of the facility.”
Miller Motorsports Park, a pet project by the late Larry H. Miller, has hosted a number of high profile events since its 2006 inception, including World Superbike, AMA Superbike, the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) and a NASCAR race, however has been running million dollar losses recently that the LHM Group of Companies could not sustain.
The company announced via the press release that it would not renew the release on the land in the Toole County, but it will continue to run the scheduled summer racing, go kart races, driving schools and group activities prior to the October 31 shut down. It has not been revealed whether a new company will take over the running of the circuit or not.
Desert News is reporting the land adjacent to the track is one of five sites being considered for a new Utah State Prison by the Utah Legislature.
