Superbike Race Two
OrangeCat Racing’s Sean Dylan Kelly (SDK) turned the Quad Lock Superbike Championship battle into a last lap showdown on Sunday, drafting past his rivals to secure a heart-stopping victory at Ridge Motorsports Park. In a race that required grit and precision, Kelly rallied from as far back as sixth place to hunt down the leaders, ultimately executing a daring pass on the final lap to win by a 0.499-second margin.
The victory capped a dramatic weekend that saw the championship lead fluctuate by the thinnest of margins. While SDK took the win, Strack Racing’s Mathew Scholtz retained the championship lead he took in Saturday’s Race 1. Scholtz now holds 145 points to SDK’s 140, heading into the next round with a slim five-point advantage.
Sunday’s proceedings began with uncertainty during the 15-minute morning Warm Up. While Hayden Gillim led the session aboard his Real Steel Honda with a 1:41.070, Scholtz suffered a significant crash midway through the practice—his second major “off” of the weekend.
The incident forced the Strack Racing crew into a frantic rebuild of his Yamaha YZF-R1 for the second time in two days. Against all odds, Scholtz lined up for Race 2 and immediately charged to the front, leading for 15 consecutive laps and appearing destined for a redemption victory.
The narrative shifted in the closing stages as SDK began his assault on the podium. With five laps remaining, SDK picked off Saturday’s winner JD Beach and then worked his way past Bobby Fong—both representing the Attack Performance Progressive Yamaha Racing team.
On the final lap, SDK set his sights on Scholtz. Entering Turn 13, Kelly dove to the inside at the top of “The Waterfall,” forcing Scholtz onto the curbing and beyond. Kelly powered away to the checkered flag, while Scholtz narrowly held onto second place, crossing the line a hair ahead of a hard charging Fong.
The race also featured a heartbreak-turned-heroic recovery from Wrench Motorcycles’ Cameron Petersen who started from second on the grid. After an equipment malfunction forced him into the pits on the opening lap, Petersen rejoined the field in 19th place. He proceeded to slice through the pack, in a charge that set the fastest lap of the race with a 1:40.758 on Lap 6. His relentless pace allowed him to salvage a 10th-place finish the hard way.
In the Superbike Cup, Andrew Lee continued his dominance, which has now improved to seven wins in eight Superbike Cup appearances, finishing second only once. Following his top-10 overall performance on Saturday, Lee piloted his Real Steel Honda to an 11th-place overall finish in Sunday’s Race 2, once again leading the Cup contingent to the finish line, extending his championship lead to 84-points over Soltisz, 195-111.

Supersport Race Two
Josh Herrin delivered a commanding double victory at Ridge Motorsports Park, taking control of Supersport Race 2 after a mid-race crash shuffled the order and boosted his momentum in the championship fight. Herrin, aboard the Rahal Ducati Moto with Desnuda Organic Tequila Ducati Panigale V2, led home Celtic/Economy Lube + Tire/Warhorse rider Darryn Binder and the rest of the field after capitalizing on the key moment of the 15-lap race.
Pole-sitter Kayla Yaakov launched cleanly on her Rahal Ducati Moto with Droplight Ducati Panigale V2 and initially set the pace in the early laps. Tyler Scott moved into second on the M4 ECSTAR Suzuki, with Herrin settling into third and Binder climbing from eighth on the grid to fourth by Lap 2. Josh Hayes completed the early top five aboard the BPR Racing Yamaha.
As the race developed, Yaakov and Herrin controlled the front while Binder steadily reduced a 2.7-second deficit. The South African rider closed in to within 1.4 seconds as the leaders approached the final stages.
The race changed with five laps remaining when Herrin overtook Yaakov at the front-straight chicane. Yaakov lost the front and crashed at the exit, leaving her machine on the racing surface. Binder was forced onto the escape route to avoid the incident, costing him significant time and a subsequent mistake at Turn 11 removed him from contention for the win.
With clear track ahead, Herrin pulled away to secure a dominant victory by more than eight seconds. Binder recovered to finish second after a strong charge through the field, while Scott and Hayes fought for the final podium position in the closing laps. Scott ultimately prevailed after Hayes briefly moved ahead before a small error at Turn 13.
Blake Davis rounded out the top five aboard the Strack Racing Yamaha YZF-R9.
Herrin’s victory tightened the championship picture as he closed the gap in the standings to 24 and bottled a bit of momentum toward the next round at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.
Talent Cup Race Two
The start of Talent Cup Race 2 saw four riders charge toward Turn 1 nearly abreast as Sawyer Lafayette Racing’s eponymous rider briefly challenged for the lead before Team Roberts’ rider Kensei Matsudaira jumped to the front of the pack.
Lafayette was shuffled to fourth before the opening lap was complete as Quarterly Racing’s Nathan Gouker and Team Hammer’s Jake Paige slipped by after his wide exit at the chicane.
From here Gouker and Matsudaira would stretch out a gap of over two seconds to page, as they swapped the lead back and forth. Paige briefly closed the gap at the halfway point but began to fall back as the laps wound down.
Throughout the race Matsudaira and Gouker would trade the top spot 10 times, with the tenth and final overtake coming at the finish line on the final lap. Matsudaira appeared poised for victory until running slightly wide in Turn 15. The mistake compromised his drive onto the front straight and allowed Gouker to maintain a tighter line through the final chicane.
The pair drag raced to the checkered flag, where Gouker prevailed by just 0.008 seconds, extending his points lead to 14 over the Californian Matsudaira, and 67 points ahead of third place, Jake Paige.
Mission Super Hooligan National Championship
Mission Super Hooligan National Championship Race 2 began with Corey Alexander leading the opening lap aboard his ARCH Motorcycle Racing 2s-R machine, ahead of OrangeCat Racing’s Josh Herrin on the electric Lighfighter V3-RH, and BPR Racing Yamaha teammates Andy DiBrino and Bryce Kornbau on a pair of Yamaha MT-09 SPs.
Herrin’s first attack came in Turn 6 on Lap 2 but would not stick. Moments later, he dove underneath the leader Alexander entering Turn 12, briefly taking over the lead while the Race 1 winner was shuffled back to fourth as the quartet raced three-wide toward Turn 13.
The early battle at the front allowed Saddlemen Race Development’s James Rispoli and points leader Gus Rodio of Rodio Racing to close the gap. Both riders matched the leaders’ pace in the 1:45 range and making it a six rider fight at the front of the pack.
With three laps remaining, DiBrino made a decisive pass for the lead entering Turn 14. He maintained his advantage through the closing laps to secure the Race 2 victory, finishing nearly two seconds ahead of ARCH Racing’s Corey Alexander and 2.5 seconds ahead of BPR Racing Yamaha teammate Bryce Kornbau. It was one of the weekend’s hardest-fought contests and Yamaha’s first ever victory in the class.
In championship points standings, Rodio leads by five points over Rispoli while DiBrino sits just 15 points down in third with three rounds remaining in the season.
Royal Enfield Build.Train.Race.
Bryanna Everitt grabbed the holeshot in the eight-lap Royal Enfield Build. Train.Race. finale with Tati Paze and Jasmine Noelle giving chase. Brianna Cutler and Tiffanie Vo rounded out the top five in the first portion of the race.
The lead battle remained tight through the opening half of the race. On Lap 4, Noelle made an ambitious move on Paze entering Turn 13 but was unable to complete the pass.One lap later, Paze struck. The Brazilian swept past Everitt in Sector 1 to claim the lead and immediately began opening a gap over the chasing pack. Over the final three laps, Paze steadily extended her advantage, taking the checkered flag by more than 1.5 seconds.
The fight behind the leader continued to the finish as Noelle worked her way into second during the closing laps, while Cutler moved past Everitt to capture the final podium spot.
Paze’s victory capped another competitive round for the Royal Enfield Build.Train.Race. championship as the series heads into the second half of the 2026 season.
Noelle leads the championship chase by 27 points as the series takes a break before their final round at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course from July 31- August 2.
Superbike Race One
Attack Performance Progressive Yamaha Racing’s JD Beach defied the odds at Ridge Motorsports Park in Race 1 on Saturday, charging from the third row of the grid to secure a commanding victory in the opening Quad Lock Superbike race of the weekend.
Beach, who qualified ninth earlier in the day, navigated a race defined by high-profile retirements and shifting championship fortunes, won by 4.501-seconds.
The victory was hard-earned on a day that saw the championship standings turned on their head. Entering today’s events, OrangeCat Racing’s Sean Dylan Kelly held a scant one-point lead over Strack Racing’s Mathew Scholtz, but Race 1 provided a significant swing in the South African’s favor.
Scholtz, who had a big crash in the early stages of Free Practice 2, returned his Yamaha YZF-R1 to the paddock that required a complete rebuild before entering Final Qualifying. Joining the field with nearly nine minutes of the 15-minute session remaining, Scholtz put in a time that would start him from third on the grid.
When the lights went out in Race 1, Scholtz was calm and collected, and rode a consistent race to finish second, securing 20 points while Kelly, who had crashed on the outlap of the race, struggled to match his qualifying pace, ending in seventh. The result moves Scholtz back into the championship lead with 125 points, 10 ahead of Kelly’s 115 entering Sunday’s Race 2.
The race was one to forget for the front-row Ducati contingent. Pole-sitter PJ Jacobsen, who set a blistering 1:40.163 on his Rahal Ducati Moto with XPEL in Final Qualifying to take the top spot, got off to an early lead, building his advantage to more than eight seconds over second place with seven laps to go. But the masterful performance ended as he entered The Ridge Complex, before losing control and finding himself out of the race.
Disaster also struck Cameron Petersen, who qualified second and looked to be a threat for the win until his Wrench Motorcycles Ducati Panigale V4 R closed to within 0.136 of Beach before losing the rear in Turn 15 ahead of the front straight, crashing out on the penultimate lap.
While Beach cruised at the front, the battle for the remaining podium spot was fierce. Vision Wheel M4 ECSTAR Suzuki’s Richie Escalante put on a masterclass of speed, clocking the fastest lap of the race with a 1:55.196 on his way to a third-place finish, and his first podium of the 2026 season.
Escalante was followed home by Warhorse HSBK Ducati Flo4Law’s Benjamin Smith, who crossed the line in fourth on his Panigale V4 R, and Brandon Paasch, who rounded out the top five on the second M4 ECSTAR Suzuki GSX-R1000R.
Notable among the finishers was Attack Performance Progressive Yamaha Racing’s Bobby Fong, who took sixth place despite qualifying fifth earlier in the morning.
In the Superbike Cup “race within the race,” Andrew Lee spearheaded the 1000cc-spec contingent during Saturday’s opening round at Ridge Motorsports Park within the premier field. Piloting his Real Steel Honda, Lee secured his fifth consecutive class-leading finish, crossing the line in 10th place overall. He maintained a consistent pace throughout the 14-lap event, fending off challenges from fellow Honda riders Danilo Lewis and Carl Soltisz, who followed him home in 11th and 12th.
Lee’s performance was highlighted by a personal best race lap of 2:02.455, allowing him to lead the Cup group to the checkered flag as they navigated the high-attrition race. Lee leads the Superbike Cup Championship over Soltisz by a commanding 72 points into Sunday’s Race 2.

Supersport Race One
The battle began in the dry during the morning qualifying session, where Rahal Ducati Moto with Droplight rider Kayla Yaakov captured her third pole position of the season with a blistering 1:43.415 lap time. The young phenom bested her Rahal Ducati Moto with Desnuda Organic Tequila teammate, Josh Herrin, by a mere seven-one-hundredths of a second, while M4 ECSTAR Suzuki rider Tyler Scott rounded out the front row.
Drama struck early for the championship points leader, Darryn Binder, who suffered a heavy crash during the second timed session that left him in eighth. The damage to his Celtic/Economy Lube + Tire/Warhorse Ducati Panigale V2 was so severe that the South African missed his out lap for the afternoon race, forcing him to start from the absolute back of the grid.
As Race 1 commenced on a fully wet racing surface, Yaakov launched to the lead at the first chicane and opened a slight gap over Herrin. Before the field could complete a single lap, a collision between MP13 Racing Rider Avery Dreher and Altus Motorsports competitor Torin Collins brought out a sudden red flag. Collins’ stranded Yamaha necessitated a full race stoppage, during which a heavy 15-minute downpour saturated the circuit before lifting just in time for a shortened 10-lap restart.
The second launch was a carbon copy of the first, with Yaakov leading Herrin and Scott into Turn 1, but a man possessed was slicing through the spray behind them. Binder remarkably overtook nearly the entire grid on the opening lap, attaching himself to the lead group before they hit “The Waterfall” at Turn 13.
On the second lap, the veteran Herrin made his move, snatching the lead from Yaakov in the opening chicane, while Binder capitalized on the momentum at Turn 8a to demote Yaakov to third. The two heavyweights quickly separated themselves from the chasing field, pushing their lap times close to the two-minute mark.
With five laps remaining, Herrin ran dangerously wide at Turn 13, gathering the bike right in front of Binder and forcing the South African to check up, which allowed Yaakov back into the lead conversation.
The near run-off lit a fire under Herrin, who suddenly dropped his pace into the astonishing 1:58s. Herrin punctuated his masterful ride by setting a stunning 1:57.827 lap in the wet on the final circuit, crossing the finish line a comfortable 2.5 seconds ahead of Binder.
Yaakov held on to claim a third-place finish after a fierce late-race battle with Binder. Further back, BPR Racing Yamaha rider Brenden Ketelsen put on a spectacular show of his own, charging from 10th to secure a season-best fourth place on his Yamaha YZF-R9, while Scott crossed the line to round out the top five.
Talent Cup Race One
The 2026 MotoAmerica Talent Cup field delivered an absolute thriller for Race 1 at Ridge Motorsports Park. Team Roberts rider Kensei Matsudaira rocketed off the line early to seize the initial lead. A high-intensity pack of five young guns quickly broke away from the rest of the grid, setting up a high-stakes chess match. This breakaway group consisted of Matsudaira, Nathan Gouker of Quarterley Racing, Jake Paige representing Team Hammer, Sam Drane flying the colors for Yamaha BLU CRU Estenson Racing, and Real Steel Honda’s Derek King.
The lead group pushed their Krämer APX-350 MA machines to the absolute limit. Several riders traded the “fastest lap” designation back and forth as the race progressed. The Australian teenager, Drane, turned up the heat on Lap 4, clocking the quickest lap of the race at that point to keep the pressure on the leaders. Misfortune struck his fellow countryman, Paige, who suffered a costly high-side crash while running in the lead pack. Showing true grit, the Team Hammer rider quickly remounted his bike and carved back through the field to salvage crucial championship points.
As the race wound down, the battle for the win became a spectacular duel between the co-point’s leaders. Gouker, a former Mini Cup National Champion hailing from Lexington, North Carolina, nearly saw his race end early when he suffered a massive high-side scare. Remarkably, the young North Carolinian saved the moment and maintained his relentless pursuit of the lead.
The drama peaked on the very final lap of the race. Pushing hard for the win coming into the final straightaway, the Californian, Matsudaira, suffered a dramatic high-side. Despite the late-race crash, Matsudaira scrambled to remount his motorcycle and crossed the finish line to secure the final spot on the podium in third place. Gouker took advantage of the final-lap chaos to capture a hard-fought victory, with Drane riding a clean, consistent race to cross the line right behind him in second place.
Mission Super Hooligan National Championship Race One
The morning session set a historic tone for the day as ARCH Motorcycle Racing rider Corey Alexander masterfully guided his ARCH 2s-R machine to pole position during the morning’s Mission Super Hooligan National Championship Q2 session. It marked a milestone first pole for the fledgling squad. Flanking him on the front row were the BPR Racing Yamaha teammates of Bryce Kornbau and Andy DiBrino, who secured second and third on their Yamaha MT-09 SPs. Though the rain had paused by the time Race 1 got underway, treacherous moisture still blanketed the tarmac, setting the stage for a high-wire act.
Alexander capitalized on his pole position, launching his American-built machine into an early lead. Hot on his heels was Saddlemen Race Development rider James Rispoli aboard a Harley-Davidson Pan America, with Alexander’s veteran teammate, Jeremy McWilliams, storming into third. This dream start for the ARCH team quickly intensified on Lap 2 when Rispoli slipped past his close friend and Pipe Dreams Podcast co-host, pulling the Northern Ireland native, McWilliams, along into second.
Disaster struck the ARCH garage on Lap 3 when McWilliams lost traction and crashed heavily. Alexander, running closely behind, had to take immediate evasive action, narrowly avoiding running over his own fallen teammate. While the veteran safely exited the track under his own power, the chaos shook up the order. The incident promoted DiBrino to second and elevated COATZYMOTO-LATIN WE rider Robertino Pietri to third on his Yamaha XSR 900.
Alexander found himself shuffled all the way back to fourth.
The leading quartet put on a masterclass in damp conditions, pulling out a two-second gap over championship leader Rodio Racing’s Gus Rodio on his Ducati Panigale V2. Rispoli looked poised to cruise to another victory until a critical mistake with three laps to go saw him run wide in Turn 8a, dropping the Florida resident to third behind Pietri. This handed the lead to DiBrino, but a resilient Alexander had already fought his way back into striking distance.
In the final two laps, DiBrino and Alexander broke away from the remaining podium contenders. Sensing his opportunity, the New York-born Alexander executed a breathtaking, aggressive pass on the inside of Turn 15 just before the front straightaway. Taking the white flag, Alexander defended his line perfectly to lead the remainder of the final lap. The emotional victory marked the first-ever Super Hooligan win for ARCH Motorcycle Racing and Alexander’s breakout triumph of the 2026 season.
Royal Enfield Build.Train.Race.
The female flyers of the Royal Enfield Build.Train.Race. program caught a massive break at Ridge Motorsports Park, becoming the only class of the day to enjoy dry conditions for their opening race of the weekend. The field spent the morning qualifying session chasing grid positions after a heavily rained-out session the day prior.
Championship points leader Bryanna Everitt conquered the conditions to secure pole position for the weekend’s doubleheader, with Jasmine Noelle and Tiffanie Vo flanking her to round out the front row.
In Race 1, the day’s relentless rain had finally passed and the sun was beginning to peek through the clouds. The preceding Mission Super Hooligan grid had successfully cleared most of the remaining rainwater off the racing line, and though scattered wet patches remained visible, the riders were able to consistently find dry lines for the entirety of the event.
When the lights went out, the South Carolinian pole-sitter, Everitt, used her starting advantage to jump out into an immediate early lead. Behind her, a close-quarters battle for second place instantly ignited between the Brazilian, Tati Paze, and Noelle. Everitt spent the first four laps exploiting this squabble to her advantage, putting her head down to build up a comfortable one-second cushion while the two riders behind her continuously traded paint.
The dynamic shifted dramatically at the halfway mark when the New Mexico-native, Noelle, successfully worked her way past Paze and immediately launched a charge to hook onto the rear wheel of the race leader.
The decisive moment of the race came with just three laps remaining. Showing immense confidence on the brakes, Noelle made a spectacular high-stakes move around the outside of Everitt in the heavy braking zone of Turn 13 to seize the lead.
Once out front in clear air, Noelle sailed smoothly across the remaining laps to take the checkered flag, securing her second victory and fifth podium of the 2026 season. Everitt hung on to cross the line in a lonely second place, while Brazil’s Paze rounded out the podium finishers with a lonely third-place result.
Friday Superbike
The Quad Lock Superbike Championship contenders were challenged by intermittent showers for both their Free, and Timed Practice sessions today. The on-and-off lapses of light drizzle to medium precipitation caused riders to spend both sessions on Dunlop KR Rain Series tires.
In the morning’s 40-minute Free Practice session, the wet pavement caught points leader Sean Dylan Kelly by surprise. The OrangeCat Racing BMW M 1000 RR rider lost rear traction exiting the tight left-hander at the top of the Ridge Complex sending him over the fairing and onto the ground. SDK took the rest of the session off to be ready for the afternoon’s final session.
At the start of the 40-minute Timed Practice the rain was still present, but decreased as the session went on. Nevertheless, the track surface shined like a freshly mopped floor for the duration of the group’s time on track.
Rahal Ducati Moto with XPEL rider PJ Jacobsen set the fastest time with a 1:54.080 just four-tenths of a second faster than fellow Ducati Panigale V4 R rider, Warhorse HSBK Ducati Flo4Law’s Loris Baz.
Making it three Ducs in a row was Wrench Motorcycle’s Cameron Petersen aboard the previous model Ducati Panigale V4 R, just seven-tenths off of the lead.
Remaining within a second of the leader’s pace, and finishing the session in fourth, was Strack Racing Yamaha’s Mathew Scholtz aboard the Yamaha YZF-R1. Scholtz was the final rider to match the lead groups 1:54 lap times while M4 ECSTAR Suzuki’s Brandon Paasch brought his Suzuki GSX-R1000R in 1.9 seconds behind the leader in fifth.
In Superbike Cup qualifying, BPR Racing Yamaha’s Deion Campbell finished at the top of the timing sheets with a 1:59.712 aboard his YZF-R1.
The forecast looks better for tomorrow’s 15-minute Final Qualifying session with mostly cloudy skies, a minimal chance of showers and temperatures in the mid-sixties. Riders who struggled in the wet today are hoping for a dry track tomorrow, and the short qualifying session is sure to be hotly contested until the clock runs out.
Supersport
Supersport’s Q1 session was halted by two separate red flags as riders were challenged by the wet conditions and active rainfall in the beginning of the session. After the second red flag was cleared the showers had stopped, but the track remained wet with some puddling spots until the end of the session.
After leading the morning warm up session, MP13 Racing’s Avery Dreher had his MV Agusta F3 RR on top again in Supersport Q1. The newly minted 20-year-old spent his birthday afternoon swapping a few fast times with Celtic/Economy Lube + Tire/Warhorse rider Darryn Binder aboard the Ducati Panigale V2. By the end of the session Dreher would best the South African Binder by a full second-and-a-half, securing provisional pole before tomorrow’s Q2 and was the only rider to dip into the minute-58s in the wet.
Rahal Ducati Moto with Droplight rider Kayla Yaakov turned in a 2:00.489 to slot into P3, nine-tenths of a second ahead of her teammate, Rahal Ducati Moto with Desnuda Organic Tequila rider Josh Herrin. Yaakov made steady progress throughout the session while her teammate Herrin struggled to get comfortable for the first half, showing as low as 14th at one point, before working his way back up to fourth.
Liberty Yamaha Racing’s Dominic Doyle represented the top Yamaha in fifth, with M4 ECSTAR Suzuki’s Tyler Scott bringing his Suzuki GSX-R750 up to sixth.
Tomorrow morning’s final Q2 session is predicted to be dry which could shake up the front row of the grid before racing gets underway in the afternoon.
Mission Super Hooligan National Championship
Saddlemen Race Development’s James Rispoli topped the Q1 charts aboard his Harley-Davidson Pan America. The 34-year-old Hogspoli turned a 2:02.732 lap time to take the temporary top spot, beating out OrangeCat Racing’s Josh Herrin aboard the all-electric Lightfighter V3-RH by just one-tenth of a second.
Robertino Pietri put his COATZYMOTO-LATIN WE Yamaha XSR 900 third, just a quarter-second off the leader and the last rider able to put in a 2:02 lap time in the rain-soaked session. In an impressive display of wet riding, ARCH Motorcycle Racing’s Corey Alexander brought his ARCH 2s-R machine around at a 2:03.018 for P4. Oregonian Andy DiBrino put his BPR Racing Yamaha MT-09 SP in fifth as the top ranking tuning fork machine.
Royal Enfield Build.Train.Race.
The Build.Train.Race. ladies had to contend with the same damp conditions as the other classes, throwing a curveball at the field in this third stop of their four round championship.
