The following is a press release from Honda…
(June 25, 2026) — Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) has experienced all The Dreams and all The Challenges that racing brings and begins a look back and celebration of all that has been and all that is yet to come.
The Dream. The Challenge. From the past to the future.
HRC today announces The Dream. The Challenge. A landmark celebration of Honda’s extraordinary history in Grand Prix motorcycle racing. Spanning a series of films, digital content, and live events scheduled throughout the year, the campaign pays tribute to the vision of Honda’s founder and the relentless competitive spirit that has defined HRC on the world stage for more than 60 years.
The same restless imagination that started Honda’s racing journey, the conviction that The Power of Dreams was not an indulgence but a necessity, is the foundation upon which HRC was built. The Dream. The Challenge. is both a celebration of what has been achieved and a look at where The Power of Dreams can take us.

Honda’s Grand Prix motorcycle story began in 1959, becoming the first Japanese manufacturer ever to compete in the World Grand Prix series. By 1966, Honda entered the premier 500cc class with the RC181, claiming victory in its debut season and laying the foundations for future World Championships.
The uncompromising demands of racing, the humbling setbacks, and the extraordinary highs over the next six-plus decades have continued to sharpen HRC’s engineering edge and pushed its ambitions further than ever before.
But for HRC, challenge is not an obstacle—it is the engine. When the sport evolves, when rivals surge, when circumstances demand reinvention, HRC does not retreat from difficulty; it leans into it.

The Dream. The Challenge. – What to Expect
The campaign will unfold across multiple formats designed to bring fans closer to the story than ever before. honda.racing/page/dream-challenge will be the central hub for media and fans to discover images and videos from Honda’s racing past.
The Dream. The Challenge. is not a farewell to a golden past; it is a recommitment to the philosophy that created it. The challenges that lie ahead in MotoGP as its transitions into a new era are exactly what will make the organization stronger.
Koji Watanabe, President of Honda Racing Corporation: “The Power of Dreams brought us to the Isle of Man in 1959 and started an incredible journey in Grand Prix racing. Our adventure started with the 125cc RC142 and our challenge would grow across all classes, joining the premier class in 1966 and earning the incredible achievement of five Constructor Championships in a single year. Inside HRC, we are of course incredibly proud of our history, and through the second half of 2027, we will be celebrating not only our achievements but also the challenges we have overcome.
“At the heart of Honda is The Power of Dreams, it is what drives each and every one of us to strive for lofty targets. But The Challenge behind The Dream is what has helped us learn and grow, especially over the last 60 years in the premier class of MotoGP. Now is a time to look back and reflect at all the successes and challenges we have faced and use them as fuel for the next era—not just in MotoGP but in all of our racing endeavors. We hope you enjoy the next few months, just a small way of saying thank you to all the fans who always support us. As long as there are dreams worth chasing and circuits worth conquering, HRC will be there—building the machines, developing the riders, teaching the engineers and thrilling race fans.”
