Yamaha Motor is set to display its YE-01 Racing Concept at the Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations 2026 in Ernee, France, starting on October 2. The public unveiling is aimed at eventual participation in MXEP, an electric motocross racing series scheduled to launch in the near future under the FIM MXGP umbrella. The YE-01 Racing Concept was originally revealed at last year’s EICMA Show in Milan, Italy.
The YE-01 Racing Concept has been jointly designed with French electric motorcycle manufacturer Electric Motion SAS (EM) and developed under the concept of “Expanding the Possibilities of Riders and Machines.” The bike uses a YZ450F chassis paired with EM’s power unit and aims to “preserve the core appeal of motocross while proposing a new form of enjoyment that leverages the unique characteristics of electric power.”
The new Yamaha is powered by an AC synchronous motor (liquid-cooled, high-output motor) with a Lithium-ion battery. It also features a hydraulic, wet, multi-plate clutch system, a wheelbase of 58.07 inches, and a ground clearance of 13.58 inches.
Yamaha Motor, in line with its Yamaha Motor Group Environmental Plan 2050, is working toward achieving carbon neutrality throughout its entire supply chain, including the Company’s business activities, by 2050. The Company will continue to conduct R&D into a variety of technologies, including electrification, that contribute to sustainability, pursuing a multi-pathway approach toward achieving carbon neutrality.
