The final round of Rocky Mountain MC WORCS Series played out on the desert floor of Primm, Nevada, October 19, where KTM rider Gary Sutherlin was finally able to put the finishing touches on his first WORCS Championship. He had enough of a points lead going in to the final that pretty much all he had to do was finish at least half the race and the 2014 title would be his. And that’s exactly what he did.

Sutherlin rode conservatively until he had enough laps in the bag to clinch the title before putting on a push late in the race. Although he didn’t win, he did secure the title.

The race win went to Robby Bell, the 2013 number-one plate holder. Bell chased down early leader Justin Jones, passed him, and then rode off with the win, his second of the year.

Jones held on to finish second matching his career best, while Eric Yorba, competing in the Pro Motorcycle class for the first time, ended up third, just ahead of Sutherlin.

Travis Coy rounded out the top five in the Pro division.

Steve Gibson won the Pro 2 class, while Michael Del Fante scored another victory in the Pro 2 Lites class and well as earning the 250 A-class Championship.

In the Women’s Pro division, Tatum Sik returned from injury to secure her first win of the season. She was forced to sit out the last four rounds, but she says that she is looking forward to next season. The 2014 Women’s Pro Champion, Brandy Richards, finished second followed by Britney Gallegos.
