It’s been a few years since the last update to Aprilia’s premium RSV4 superbike, so 2025 should be a milestone year for the Noale manufacturer.
The $19,100 MSRP Aprilia 2025 Aprilia RSV4 and the up-spec $26,099 MSRP RSV4 Factory have undergone an aero redesign to maximize racetrack slipperiness, allowing more mechanical grip and letting the rider to fully max out the 220 hp V4.
The new bodywork features a twin-layer winglet system below the windshield, adapted from Aprilia’s RS-GP MotoGP machine, which increases downforce for better cornering precision and high-speed stability.
This updated aerodynamic shape reduces heat directed toward the rider with powerful radiator fans and lowers the drag coefficient by six percent, while an eight percent decrease in wheelie tendency aids in acceleration.
The side panels integrate smoothly with a redesigned, minimalist tail and rear light cluster, which can be easily removed for track use.
The RSV4 now includes a five-inch TFT color display with updated graphics, a fuel level indicator, and new backlit handlebar controls. There’s a lighter upper triple-clamp and Aprilia has fitted the same Hypure radial-mount four-piston calipers that were first seen on the 2025 Ducati Panigale V4 S.
Interestingly, the RSV4 Factory still runs the previous-generation Ohlins Smart EC 2.0 suspension, whereas rivals Ducati and Honda have already adopted the EC 3.0 system for their 2025 models.
The RSV4’s glorious V4 motor produces 220 hp at 13,100 rpm and 92 lb-ft at 10,800 rpm, making it the world’s most powerful production superbike compliant with Euro 5+ standards. The V4 gets 4mm larger throttle bodies—now 52 mm—and a new exhaust system with a relocated catalytic converter to minimize heat aimed at the rider and to allow easier fitment of aftermarket exhaust mufflers for racing.
Interestingly, the RSV4’s rider assistance systems are now fully adjustable through Aprilia’s latest electronic control packages, which can be customized via in-app purchases, allowing riders to adapt settings without dealer visits. This advanced setup includes adaptive and predictive components for wheelie, traction, and wheelie controls, processing real-time data (speed, lean angle, throttle position, etc.) to ensure smooth, precise control.
As it has done for eons, the RSV4 features a six-axis inertial platform, a Ride-by-Wire throttle, and three riding modes that integrate with the Cornering ABS and the APRC (Aprilia Performance Ride Control) system.
Both the RSV4 and RSV4 Factory models are available with a range of Aprilia’s racing accessories.
