The MotoConcepts Racing (MCR) Honda Team announced the riders it will field in the FIM World Supercross Championship, and one of those riders will be former Honda factory racer Cole Seely, who will be coming out of retirement. Seely stepped away from professional racing in 2019.
Seely will compete alongside Mitchell Oldenburg in the SX2 (250cc) class.
“I’m stoked to come back to racing with a switch-up in the normal routine and travel the world,” Seely said. “I never lost my competitive side, and it was good to get back to the basics the last few years and find the fun in riding again. I still love to go fast on my dirt bike. I’m also looking forward to running number 200, as it was picked out by Troy Lee the first year that I raced for him!”
MCR’s 450cc team will be made up of Justin Brayton and Vince Friese.
“I’m very excited to be joining MCR for WSX,” said Brayton who retired from AMA Supercross this year. “I think this is a great opportunity for teams and riders to race supercross around the world at a high level,” said Brayton. “I’ve been traveling the globe in the fall months racing supercross only for years now, so it’s something I’m familiar with and am looking forward to!”
“I’m excited for the new opportunity the World Supercross series provides,” said team owner Mike Genova. “We’re going in strong with our rider lineup and know that each one of them is a title contender in their class.” CN
