The King makes an entrance…
It is after all the season of giving. And in keeping with that, Yamaha held its seventh annual Feed the Children charity event at its U.S. corporate headquarters in Cypress, California. Yamaha has been working with the Feed the Children – a non-profit organization that seeks to deliver food, medicine, clothing and other necessities to families in need in the U.S. – for over 20 years.
Among the event’s festivities was a pancake breakfast, a stunt show, a group ride and, of course, the presentation of the check to Feed the Children – which this year was $100,500.
Yamaha also had its champions on hand for the occasion – AMA Superbike Champion Josh Herrin, Daytona Sportbike Champion Cameron Beaubier, Women’s Motocross Champion Jessica Patterson and AMA Pro ATV MX Champion Chad Wienen. After introducing each of them to the guests and employees, the champions were presented with plaques that will soon grace the headquarter’s champions wall.
The plaques are a new tradition for Yamaha, but winning championships isn’t so Yamaha invited a couple champions from the past to be included in the plaque presentation – motocrosser Gary Jones and three-time World Champion Kenny Roberts. As an extra treat for the Yamaha employees and Yamaha riders present for the charity event, Roberts made quite an entrance on his old TZ750.

After the champions presentation, professional stunt rider Bill Dixon put on a show for the crowd on four different two-wheeled machines – a Zuma scooter, a dual-sport bike, a Bolt and an R6.
When the show was over, everyone present for the ride geared up and followed Roberts and Yamaha USA president Toshi Kato to deliver the food to the Feed the Children location in Orange County.
