Off the back of one of the most successful Honda seasons in history, Honda HRC Petronas rider Jeffrey Herlings will make the trip to Sugo, Japan, and line up for the final round of the Japan Motocross Championship, taking place October 31 to November 1.

The Bullet ended up winning 13 GPs and 22 motos, including a sweep of the last eight GPs, which then continued into the Motocross of Nations, where he went one-one, winning his class and helping the Netherlands to the third step on the podium. However, this will mark the first time in his career that he will be racing in Japan, something he is looking forward to.

Jeffrey Herlings: “I am very excited to go to Japan and race. It is a country I have never visited before but always wanted to, so I am thankful for this opportunity and will try to see as much as I can. Obviously it is an important race for Honda, and I am one of a long line of their riders who have made this trip, so I feel proud, especially off the back of such a successful year. It is my chance to say thank you to a lot of the engineers in person, the people who worked behind the scenes to help make this Honda CRF450RW so awesome, so I will make sure to do that and just enjoy the experience as much as possible.”

Marcus Pereira de Freitas: “We are very happy that Jeffrey can make this trip to Japan and race in front of our fans there. It is always a nice occasion and he’ll get to meet some of the people from the factory, so while the racing is always serious, there will also be some celebratory moments with the Honda staff there, who have been helping him this year from afar.”
