Triumph is giving its Street Triple a major performance boost for 2027, replacing the 765 with a new 798cc triple and a ground-up chassis redesign.

Triumph has released the first images of the new Street Triple 798 ahead of its full unveiling on November 17, with complete specifications still under wraps. The most significant change is the engine, which is derived from Triumph’s development work for the 2027 Moto2 World Championship. The new 798cc triple represents the next generation of Triumph’s Moto2 powerplant, following seven seasons with the 765cc engine.

The Street Triple is going to be a bigger, more aggressive beast in 2027.

While Triumph has yet to announce production power and torque figures, the 2027 Moto2 engine is expected to produce approximately 150 horsepower—around six percent more than the current race engine. The production Street Triple is unlikely to approach that figure, but increased performance over the current 765cc RS is expected, so 135-140 horsepower isn’t out of the question.

The engine isn’t the only major change. The new Street Triple feature a completely revised chassis, with a substantially different frame and swingarm giving the motorcycle a more muscular appearance. The rear suspension layout has also been revised, while a new underslung exhaust replaces the outgoing system.

That swingarm looks like it’s straight off the Moto2 grid.

Styling is perhaps the most dramatic departure. The traditional twin-headlight arrangement has been replaced by a single central LED projector surrounded by distinctive perimeter daytime running lights. The bodywork is sharper and more aggressive and is flanked by all new 798 graphics.

Brembo radial-mounted front brake calipers and Showa suspension are visible in the initial images, although Triumph has yet to confirm the complete component specification, weight, geometry or electronics package.

The 2027 Street Triple 798 will make its full debut November 17, with pricing, availability and complete technical specifications expected at that time.
