Grant Davis delivered a commanding performance in a wet, slippery round five of the 2026 U.S. Sprint Enduro Series, taking a decisive overall victory at the High Voltage Sprint Enduro in Maidsville, West Virginia, April 25-26, after going 1-1 over the two days of competition. With only two rounds left on the calendar, the FMF KTM Factory-backed rider significantly strengthened his championship prospects, especially as his closest rival and previous round winner, Cody Barnes, was sidelined by a hard crash in Kentucky last weekend. The incident is expected to keep the Liqui Moly Beta rider out for the remainder of the season, further opening the door for Davis as the title fight enters its final stretch.

Davis came out swinging on Saturday, seizing the early overall lead by edging Pro 2 standout Toby Cleveland by three seconds in the opening cross test. Making his much-anticipated series debut, Liqui Moly Beta’s Josh Strang wasted no time reminding the field of his pedigree, finishing third in the test—eight seconds behind Cleveland. KTM USA’s Orange Brigade rider Cooper Jones finished fourth overall and second in the Pro 2 ranks, while Kawasaki-mounted Will Sievenpiper rounded out the top five and led the Pro-Am class.
Davis backed up his momentum with another test win in test two, but the battle intensified in test three when Rockstar Energy Husqvarna’s Craig DeLong entered the fray. DeLong lit up the cross test with the fastest time, stopping the clock 1.2 seconds faster than Davis and 1.6 seconds ahead of Cleveland, the top Pro 2 rider. Meanwhile, Cole Whitmer (GG) stood tall in Pro-Am competition, claiming top honors in the class with an impressive fifth-place finish in the test.
Davis turned up the heat during the latter stages of the day, winning the final three tests and putting an exclamation point on Saturday by posting a commanding 9.3-second advantage over Cleveland in the closing cross test, leaving no doubt about his control of the event. At the end of the day, Davis secured Saturday’s victory by a convincing 31.1 seconds over Cleveland, while Strang delivered a solid ride to claim third. Jones and DeLong completed a competitive and tightly contested top five.

Cleveland also topped the Pro 2 division, while Sievenpiper was the top Pro-Am rider, finishing sixth overall.
After navigating soggy conditions on Saturday, Davis returned on Sunday with the same intensity and control, carrying his momentum into day two. He set the early benchmark by winning the still-damp opening cross test, finishing seven seconds ahead of Pro 2 leader Cleveland, with Jones—second in Pro 2—another 11 seconds back. DeLong secured fourth, closely shadowed by Strang in fifth. In the Pro-Am ranks, Husqvarna-mounted Colton Shields delivered a standout performance, claiming top-class honors with an impressive sixth-place finish.
Davis put his control on full display in the slippery enduro test, charging to a six-second win over Jones. Behind him, Cleveland edged Husqvarna-mounted Brody Johnson by a razor-thin four-tenths of a second for fourth, while Baisley rounded out the top five.

Test three only widened the gap as Davis returned to work, stamping his authority on the day with a third win and extending his lead over Cleveland to more than 30 seconds. Cleveland answered back in style during test four, the enduro test, charging to his first win of the weekend and locking down second place, while Davis rode smart and smooth to a safe second, ahead of DeLong and Jones.
Davis wasn’t finished. He tightened his grip on the overall victory by storming to another win in test five, the cross test, before backing off with a calculated third in the final enduro test. Jones grabbed his first test win of the weekend in test four, ahead of Cleveland. When the scores were settled, Davis stood atop Sunday’s results, sealing the victory ahead of Cleveland, Jones, DeLong and Josh Strang. Cleveland was tops in the Pro 2 class, while Shields was the top Pro-Am rider. The top Amateur was Brody Amos, who won the 250A class, slotting him into ninth overall for the day.
At the end of the weekend, Davis stood tall atop the final two-day standings, securing a convincing overall victory ahead of Cleveland and Jones. Veteran Strang and DeLong completed a hard-fought top five, while Shields powered to sixth overall. Sievenpiper, Whitmer, Johnson, and Triumph’s James Jenkins rounded out the top 10 after two demanding days.
“I’m pumped for the weekend, and I wish I could ride like this at every sprint race,” said Davis. “It was super slick out there, but I had a lot of fun. Hopefully, I can keep this up. Props to the U.S. Sprint Enduro Series and their crew for all the hard work turning a tough situation into a very enjoyable one. They worked all Saturday night to prepare a great, fun course for Sunday, and I enjoyed it.”
Cleveland left Maidsville with plenty to be proud of, capturing an enduro-test win, second overall, and the Pro 2-class victory.
“The rain in the last test on Saturday was pretty gnarly,” Cleveland admitted. “Cooper and I were really close in the enduro test, but I made up time in the cross test. My best test was today, when I smoked Grant in the enduro test by about a second, so I’m pleased with the weekend.”
Jones capped off a strong weekend by finishing second in Pro 2 and third overall, despite a costly mistake late in the race.
“I had good speed in the woods, but I crashed pretty hard in the final cross test on Saturday and gave up a lot of time,” Jones said. “It was basically like ice out there, but it was still a solid weekend.”
Strang finished second in the Pro 1 class and fourth overall, building momentum as the weekend progressed.
“Honestly, the rain made things tough for me,” said Strang. “I’m still finding my rhythm and was off the pace this weekend, but I really like this format and the layout was awesome.”
Cleveland, Jones, and Johnson locked out the top three spots in the Pro 2 division, while Shields took a commanding Pro-Am victory over Sievenpiper and Whitmer, capping a standout performance.

FMF KTM’s Brandy Richards and AmPro Yamaha’s Danielle McDonald went toe-to-toe in a thrilling Women’s Pro showdown that stayed razor-close from the opening test. After day one, the pair was separated by just 13 seconds, with Richards narrowly holding the upper hand. From there, Richards took full control, backing up her early edge by sweeping both days to claim the overall win. McDonald matched her intensity all weekend, securing second on each day, while fellow Yamaha rider Lillie Sheets delivered a strong ride to lock down the final podium spot in third overall.
“It was challenging. I think the track changed every time I went out,” said Richards. “It was a little unpredictable but fun. Yesterday was wet and slippery, and today was tricky but fun, so I’m happy with the 1-1 finish.”CN
