2023 Seattle Supercross Round 11 Results

Ryan Nitzen | March 25, 2023

The sun is shining in Seattle as round 11 of the Monster Energy Supercross Series kicks off inside Lumen Field. We’re back on the west coast which means all the 250SX west coast are back in action, while the 450SX class is still a nail-biter. The PNW fans were treated to another close night of racing where Eli Tomac and Jett Lawrence took home their respective wins.

Main Event

450SX

The 450SX main event started off with a new face at the front of the field, that being privateer Kevin Moranz. He led the first lap of the race before getting passed by Chase Sexton. Sexton took over the lead and looked to be running away with the race as he led 10 laps before disaster struck. Another big mistake as he tucked the front just after the finish and went down but remounted unharmed. He put on a late-race charge and went on to finish fifth.

Eli Tomac then inherited the lead after Sexton’s fall. Tomac found a fast line by blitzing the whoops which put a gap between him and points leader Cooper Webb. Despite a few charges from Webb, Tomac held strong and kept the lead to the finish to claim the victory. With this win he ties the series points lead with Webb, and also ties James Stewart’s spot as second on the all-time wins list at 50. Both Tomac and Webb will sport red plates at the Glendale round in two weeks.

Tomac took the win – tying the points lead and second on the all-times win list.

Cooper Webb came home second after fighting hard to stay with Tomac. The two battled early on but the whoop section seemed to be the deciding factor for the top spot and Webb spent almost all of the race jumping in the main line rather than blitzing. This, along with lapped riders, allowed Tomac to put time into Webb and get away with the win. Webb’s second still keeps him in the hunt as the two rivals are now tied for the series lead.

Cooper Webb won his heat and held on for second in the main.

Justin Barcia logged another podium finish in third. At one point in the race Barcia was turning the fastest laps of anyone on track and the GasGas rider made a strong charge through the pack of Sexton, Roczen, and Cianciarulo. Barcia closed in to the back of Webb late in the race but couldn’t seal the deal for second. The number-51, who celebrated his 31st birthday tonight, claimed another third place finish on the season and sits sixth in points, just four points out of fourth and fifth who are tied.

450 Podium.

Jason Anderson grabbed fourth after passing many of the front runners from early in the race. He looked to be putting on a charge as the race wound down and managed to get around both Sexton and Roczen. With only a limited amount of races left on the schedule we’re still wondering when Anderson will grab his elusive first win of year.

Jason Anderson’s late race charge landed him fourth.

250SX

Lots of drama leading into the 250SX main event after Jett Lawrence and Cameron Mcadoo came together in their heat race. Stilez Robertston kicked off the race with the holeshot and the early lead as Jett Lawrence followed in second. Robertson led the first four laps before getting passed and eventually crashing out of the race. With Jett in the lead, he led the remaining laps despite dealing with lapped riders. He racks up another win on the season.

Mark down another win for Jett Lawrence as he further extends his points lead.

RJ Hampshire came home second. He battled with Cameron Mcadoo for the entire race and the two went back and forth for almost the whole second half of the race. Hampshire made the pass stick as the white flag was waving, saying he thought he was already on the final lap.

Padding the points lead for Jettson.

Cameron Mcadoo rounded out the podium after an eventful night. He battled with Hampshire and even held off the Husqvarna rider for most of the main but eventually got passed with only one lap remaining. Mcadoo sits third in overall points after tonight.

250SX West

No matter which coast we’re on we seem to have one of the Lawrences top the 250 times. This week we’re back on the west coast, so Jett Lawrence has taken over that title and set the second best time of anyone on the day. RJ Hampshire was second as he’s back in the 250 class, and Levi Kitchen was a close third. Shout out to Carson Mumford who’s making his debut on the Pro Circuit Kawasaki machine and logged the fourth best time.
