KTM revealed the 2027 450 Rally Replica will be sold for the first time through U.S.-based dealerships this fall.

The 450 Rally Replica is the same platform the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team has used at the Dakar Rally, including winning the 2026 edition. It’s also the same bike used by the BAS World KTM Racing Team—KTM’s official satellite support team. While the premier factory effort of Daniel Sanders, Luciano Benavides and Edgar Canet certainly features tricked-out versions of this unit and non-consumer parts, the bones are the same.

The 2027 KTM 450 Rally Replica “remains the closest bike to a factory racer available off a dealership floor,” says KTM.

As a competition-only rally race machine, KTM says the 450 Rally Replica build sheet starts with a hand-welded chromoly frame featuring calculated flex parameters, tube placements and tube-wall thicknesses to provide exceptional rider feedback, bump absorption and straight-line stability from the forged steering head connection back to the self-supporting rear fuel tank that doubles as the subframe.

Bolted to the frame is a WP Pro Components’ Xact Pro Cone Valve closed-cartridge fork and an Xact Pro rear shock with 11.97/11.0 inches of travel front/rear. The shock is connected to a die-cast aluminum swingarm via linkage. A 23mm-offset machined triple clamp is rally-specific, and a Scotts steering damper is mounted under KTM’s PHDS-damped handlebar mount.

Powering the desert weapon is a 449cc four-valve SOHC four-stroke engine fed by a 44mm Keihin throttle body and Keihin engine-management system. The setup features rally-specific ECU mappings to match the airbox, engine and exhaust combination, and routes power through a six-speed transmission. Two independent radiators cool the powerplant, and an isolated oil cooler keeps temperatures further in check. Dedicated cylinder head porting and lightweight titanium valves, driven by DLC-coated rocker arms, prioritize drivetrain durability and performance. A rally-spec titanium Akrapovic exhaust system is standard with a special hydroformed under-bike section to maximize ground clearance.

Race-ready features include a carbon-fiber navigation tower with a digital roadbook mount and a narrower dashboard area to improve aerodynamics and reduce turbulence at full speed. In front, an LED headlight system anchors the front windscreen with a claimed 33 percent more light output than previous generations. The dash/cockpit area features warning lights for low-fuel situations when fuel hits reserve.

KTM says the 450 Rally Replica holds approximately nine gallons of fuel total, and based on its specs, the split is about 4.75 gallons in the two front tanks and about 4.22 gallons in the rear tank. Two fuel pumps control delivery and can be accessed independently to supply fuel from either end of the bike, as desired. This also acts as a racing backup if a pump fails. The chassis includes tool storage.

Brembo brakes use 300/240mm rotors front/rear, connected to cast aluminum wheel hubs laced to black Excel wheels via steel spokes and nipples. Michelin StarCross 6 Medium/Soft tires are mounted—a clue to the race-only mindset behind the bike built in-house by KTM Motorsports at the KTM factory in Mattighofen, Austria.
