Ducati is expanding its middleweight sportbike range with the introduction of the 2027 Panigale V2 SP, a limited-edition model developed with a stronger focus on track performance and competition. Unveiled at EICMA 2026 in Milan, Italy, the new SP is based on the Panigale V2 S and incorporates a series of chassis, suspension and drivetrain upgrades intended to bring it closer to Ducati’s racing machinery.

Power comes from Ducati’s 890cc V-twin engine with variable valve timing, producing a claimed 120 horsepower. The engine retains its variable valve timing technology, while the SP receives a new STM dry clutch designed to accommodate Ducati Corse Performance Oil. The six-speed transmission is paired with an electronics package developed to improve acceleration, traction and rider control.
Chassis changes include a longer swingarm designed to improve stability and precision, particularly under acceleration and during corner entry. The motorcycle also receives lighter forged wheels, reducing rotational and unsprung mass compared with the standard V2 S.
Suspension is upgraded to Öhlins components, replacing the standard model’s suspension package. Ducati has also revised the electronics and chassis setup to improve agility, traction and control during more demanding riding conditions.
The Panigale V2 SP is intended to serve as the homologation platform for Ducati’s entry into the FIM Supersport World Championship in 2027. Development has drawn on experience from the Lenovo V2 Future Champs Academy, with the production motorcycle incorporating technical solutions developed through the program.
While the mechanical upgrades distinguish the SP from the standard V2 S, the overall Panigale styling remains familiar, retaining the fully faired bodywork and aerodynamic profile of the current-generation model.
The 2027 Panigale V2 SP represents the most track-focused version of Ducati’s new-generation V2 platform and continues the company’s tradition of producing special-edition SP models with competition-derived components.
U.S. pricing and availability have yet to be announced.
