For the third consecutive race this season, Steward Baylor Jr led the day by winning test one. However, immediately after, his younger brother, Grant, took over and dominated the rest of the racing. Grant outperformed everyone in test two and carried that momentum through the remaining tests, culminating in victory ahead of the day’s Super Test 7 final.

AmPro Yamaha’s Draper, the series points leader, competed intensely all day for the last podium spot. As the Super Test approached, every second counted, and Draper secured the second-best time, confirming his third-place finish overall.

In the Pro2 class, FMF Red Bull KTM’s Jason Tino won five of seven tests, earning the class victory. Liqui Moly Factory Beta rider Jhak Walker consistently topped the podium in every class and received the FMF Top Two-Stroke Performer award, finishing second in Pro2. Class points leader and defending champion Nick DeFeo of Rocky Mountain ATV/MC Red Bear Racing Kawasaki maintained steady times throughout the day. He won Super Test 7 but finished third in Pro2 after entering the Centreville race undefeated.

In the Pro Women class, Rockstar Energy Husqvarna’s Korie Steede had an almost flawless day, winning six out of seven tests. Her only third-place finish in test two was due to missing her crucial start time. Nevertheless, she recovered well throughout the day and stayed undefeated this season, earning her third consecutive victory.

Enduro Engineering’s Shelby Turner capitalized on Steede’s timing mishap to take the test-two win. Turner finished second best on the day for the second time. Brooke Cosner battled back and forth with Turner, and the two swapped positions throughout the day. But in the end, Cosner took the final Pro Women podium spot.

The day’s highlight occurred in the afternoon with the return of Super Test 7. All Pro and A-class riders competed directly against each other on a one-mile, motocross-style track, drawing fans to watch.

Craig DeLong of Rockstar Energy Husqvarna took the Super Test victory with a time of two minutes and 34 seconds. Draper took second, and Steward Baylor took third in a battle with his brother, Grant, the eventual overall winner.

“It’s been a while since I’ve won one of these things,” Grant said. “So, it feels awesome [to be on the top step of the podium]. It felt like old-school enduro trail out there, banging bars, knocking bark off the trees; it was a good day. I hit the ground like five times today. I was just sending out there in the tight trees. After tests two and three, I started feeling good. I just had to keep it on two wheels, which I didn’t do, but it still worked out.”

“This is my last year doing this, and I think I’m on the right path,” Steward said. “It’s a little frustrating. I’ve won the first test in every race this season, and somehow I go backward. That’s not typical for me. Normally, it’s the opposite.”

“[Grant and Steward] were on another level today,” Draper said. “I was just trying to salvage some points. Ryder and I battled it out all the way to the end, but it was a good day, good points, good to be back on the podium. Grant and Stu, we’re ripping.”

Draper still leads the championship, now by nine points over Grant. Steward is another six points back in third.CN
