Monster Energy Kawasaki and Jorge Prado have ended their time together after just one year in what was supposed to be a three-year deal with the two-time MXGP World Champion. The two parties have officially reached a settlement for the early release of Prado from his rider agreement, effective October 16, 2025.

This comes after Prado signed to the team back in 2024 in his quest for a full-time spot in America. He debuted with the team at the Anaheim 1 season opener for the Monster Energy Supercross series but suffered a shoulder injury during practice at round three (A2). Prado later returned to action at the Pro Motocross opener and finished sixth overall. His season best results came with two fifth place finishes both at Southwick and Ironman, taking sixth overall in the point standings. Prado did not race the final three Playoff rounds of the SMX World Championship.

Monster Energy Kawasaki says they are hard at work in preparation for the 2026 SMX World Championship and will announce their full 450 and 250 class racing teams in early November, prior to the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship kick off on January 10, 2026 at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California.
