In this week’s Throwback, we travel back in time 20 years to Glen Helen Raceway in San Bernardina, California. Photographer Mitch Friedman captured the action out of the gate at the start of the AMA 125cc Motocross National. There are a lot of great names in the field for this race. From left to right you can see Josh Demuth (88), Damon Huffman (17), Ricky Carmichael (70), Kevin Windham (7), Casey Johnson (32), Michael Brandes (33), Casey Lytle (71), Greg Schnell (110), Travis Preston (712), unidentified rider (351), Jiri Dostal (147), Robbie Skaggs (66), Tony Lorusso (37) and Mickael Pichon (27).
Carmichael went on to win the event with a 1-1 finish on his Splitfire/Pro Circuit Kawasaki KX125 over teammate Casey Johnson who went 3-4 and third-place overall Scott Sheak who went 2-5 on his factory Honda.
