Nicky Hayden is a bonafide American motorcycle racing legend. He’s the last American to win the MotoGP World Championship, he’s an AMA Superbike and Supersport Champion and now he’s attempting to win the World Superbike Championship in his second season with the Ten Kate Honda team.
Nicky was raised the middle child of three very fast siblings, with elder brother Tommy and younger brother Roger all enjoying long and successful racing careers in the U.S., and it all started under the tutelage of his father Earl.
Here, Earl gives you an insight into what makes his most famous son tick, how he came to be MotoGP World Champion and what it would mean to him and the family if Nicky were to seal the World Superbike Championship title, thus becoming the first rider ever to take the MotoGP/WorldSBK double crown.
