After another Yamaha sweep of the weekend at Indianapolis, America’s fastest racers will visit New Jersey Motorsports Park (NJMP) for the final MotoAmerica round in just over a week… and isn’t it fitting that every 2015 MotoAmerica champion is on a Yamaha during this 60th Anniversary celebration of the Tuning-Fork company?
So let’s party! Get to the track early Saturday Sept 12 for Coffee with Champions at the Champ School garage in the Thunderbolt racetrack paddock. Coffee and pastries will be ready at 8am, and Yamaha’s factory riders from Monster Energy/ Graves Yamaha will be on hand for autographs and pictures during this quiet time at the track. We’re not sure how many donuts Josh Hayes might want during a race weekend, but watching racing is always better after coffee and pastries! Joining Hayes will be his teammate Cameron Beaubier as well as Yamalube/Y.E.S./Graves/Yamaha riders JD Beach and Garrett Gerloff.
While chomping on a tasty treat, check out some classic Yamaha TZ roadracers from yesteryear. luxeStar VIP Classic Racing Team will have a selection of TZ750s on display at YCRS. Make sure to listen for the announcement on when those bikes will be started later in the day so everyone can hear what a four-cylinder two-stroke racer sounds like. The Yamaha TZ750 dominated American Road Racing in the ’70s and early ’80s – just like the R1 and R6 are dominating now.
