Costa Mesa, CA (June 24, 2015) – MotoAmerica is proud to announce that the Armed Forces Foundation has been named as an official nonprofit partner of the 2015 and 2016 MotoAmerica AMA/FIM North American Road Race Series.
The Armed Forces Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to supporting and advocating for active-duty military personnel, National Guardsmen, Reservists, military families and veterans. The AFF returns 95 cents of every dollar raised to service members and their families through our programs and MotoAmerica is pleased to partner with the AFF.
“We’re looking forward to working with the Armed Forces Foundation,” said three-time 500cc World Champion and MotoAmerica President Wayne Rainey. “It’s truly in honor to be involved in helping the military and their families in any way we can. I’m also excited that we’re going to be able to bring members of the military out to our events so they can experience first-hand the excitement of road racing.”
The partnership will officially begin at the Miller Motorsports Park event, June 26-28, as the Armed Forces Foundation and MotoAmerica will play host to members of the military during what is Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) month.
Through its Help Save Our Troops campaign, the AFF proactively educates Americans about the hidden wounds of war, including Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), and advocates for those troops and veterans who have suffered these hidden wounds. The ultimate goal of Help Save Our Troops is to reduce military suicides.
“We are excited to partner with MotoAmerica to serve the military, veterans and their families,” said Patricia Driscoll, President of the Armed Forces Foundation. “The Armed Forces Foundation actively works to ‘Serve those who Serve,’ and with this endeavor, we will be providing more opportunities for service members and their families around the country to relieve the stresses of injuries and deployment while enjoying the MotoAmerica circuit.”
