Ryan Villopoto will have to sit out of this weekend’s MXGP at Talavera de la Reina in Spain. Despite his efforts to get back to racing, Villopoto has had to postpone his come back to the World Championship as he is still healing from a broken tailbone suffered at the GP of Trentino.
Villopoto has been unable to sit and train on his Kawasaki KX450F-SR since the accident in Italy. So the multi-time AMA Motocross and Supercross champ is currently in the U.S. working with his personal trainer Aldon Baker on an intensive fitness program to recover from this injury.
“My goal is to be back racing as soon as possible, but to have a chance to fight for MXGP wins you must be 100 percent fit,” Villopoto said via team release. “Together with the Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team we did our best for a prompt recovery, but unfortunately we have to wait a few more days before we’ll be back racing.”
