It was all Kawasaki as Jonathan Rea and teammate Tom Sykes topped the time sheets in World Superbike on day one at Aragon. Rea took the top honors in the final moments of the session by just .145 of a second over the former World Champion.

Behind the Kawasaki’s was a pair of Aruba.it Racing Ducatis—Chaz Davies and Xavi Fores, who is filling in for injured rider Davide Giugliano. In fifth was Red Devils Roma Aprilia’s Leon Haslam. Fellow Brit Alex Lowes ended the day in sixth for the Voltcom Crescent Suzuki team. Pata Honda’s Michael van der Mark was seventh ahead of Althea Ducati’s Nico Terol.

In ninth was Van der Mark’s teammate Sylvain Guintoli and rounding out the top 10 was Jordi Torres on the other Red Devils Roma Aprilia.

Meanwhile in Supersport, Intermoto Ponyxpres Kawasaki’s PJ Jacobsen took the top time of the day. The American edged out Kawasaki Puccetti Racing’s Kenan Sofuoglu in the final moments of FP2 by .272 of a second. MV Agusta Reparto Corse’s Jules Cluzel was third.
