Supercross: James Stewart In For Las Vegas SX Final

James Stewart will suit up for the Las Vegas Supercross despite knee injury.

James Stewart plans to finish out the Supercross Series at Las Vegas.

Things did not look good for James Stewart and the Yoshimura Suzuki Team after the New Jersey Supercross. After planting his knee on the ground awkwardly during the third lap of the 450 main event, the former Supercross champ immediately pulled off the track and rode straight back to the Suzuki pits. That’s never a good thing – he was definitely out for the night, but what about next week at the final Supercross round at Las Vegas or, more importantly, the upcoming first round of the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship? Luckily, it appears the injury isn’t as bad as first feared.

The word from the Suzuki camp is that Stewart currently plans on competing at the Vegas Supercross final on May 3, but not after a good dose of knee rehab. After almost a couple of days, Stewart’s knee is, according to the team, “in much better shape” than they thought it would be.So, for now, it looks as though Stewart is good for Vegas.
