Practice Underway At Anaheim I

The first practice session is over at Angel Stadium for the opening round of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series in Anaheim, California, and many of the same faces are atop the leader board, including James Stewart and Ryan Dungey.
On a cool and overcast day in Southern California, Stewart, aboard the San Manuel Yamaha, already set the mark by recording the quickest time so far with a 59.806, which was nearly a second quicker than 450-class rookie, Monster Kawasaki’s Ryan Villopoto, who posted a 1:00.721. Third-fastest is defending champ, Makita/Rockstar Suzuki’s Chad Reed with a 1:00.730. Fourth-quickest so far is Honda Red Bull’s Davi Millsaps with a 1:01.889.
In the Lites class, defending West Coast Lites champ Jason Lawrence made his debut on the all-black Boost Mobile/ampm/ Monster Energy/Troy Racing Yamaha (pictured). Lawrence looked fast, but Makita/Rockstar Suzuki’s Ryan Dungey clocked the quickest time with a 1:02.185. Lawrence, who fell once, was second-quickest with a 1:02.721. Third quickest was Justin Brayton (1:02.858), followed by Jake Weimer (1:02.982) and East Coast champ Trey Canard (1:03.036), who is now competing in the West.
The second practice session has not yet started.
