World SX Final Round

| November 22, 2000

The second and final round of the 2000 FIM Supercross World Championship will take place this Saturday in Leipzig, Germany, where AMA/EA Sports Supercross Champion Jeremy McGrath will be the favorite. McGrath will by trying for a win after his defeat in the first round of the series in Paris’ Stade de France at the hands of David Vuillemin. The winner last year in Leipzig, McGrath has no more chance to win the title this year, but the Yamaha star would appreciate winning the last major European Supercross of the season.

As Vuillemin is not confirmed for this final round, Mike LaRocco is the favorite for the 2000 World SX title. But LaRocco is closely followed in the points standings by “retired” Greg Albertyn and Joshua Coppins, both on Suzukis.

On Sunday the action will continue in Leipzig with the “European King of Dirt Challenge,” including Freestyle MX (with Edgar Torronteras, Carey Hart and Mike Jones), BMX (with Timo Pritzel and Adam Baker) and mountain biking.
