Suzuki is bringing its popular SV platform into a new era with the introduction of the 2027 SV-7S, unveiled at EICMA in Milan, Italy. Retaining the familiar 645cc V-twin engine from the long-running SV650, the new model adds updated styling, electronic rider aids and smartphone connectivity to the middleweight streetbike package.

Just like the old one, but newer. The SV continues its rebirth in the new SV-7S as it sits alongside the SV-7GX that was released in 2026.

At its heart is the liquid-cooled, 90-degree DOHC V-twin, an engine that has powered the SV family for more than 25 years. The motor retains its characteristic V-twin power delivery, with a broad torque curve and smooth, controllable performance. A new ride-by-wire throttle system incorporates downdraft throttle bodies and allows the integration of Suzuki’s Intelligent Ride System (S.I.R.S.), which includes selectable riding modes, traction control and a bi-directional quickshifter.

The SV-7S uses a tubular steel trellis frame designed around a low center of gravity and slim proportions. Suspension consists of a 41mm conventional fork offering 4.9 inches of travel and a link-type rear monoshock with seven-position preload adjustment. Seat height is 30.9 inches.

Braking is handled by dual four-piston Tokico front calipers gripping 290mm discs, with a 240mm rear rotor and ABS. Ten-spoke cast-aluminum wheels are fitted with Dunlop Roadsmart III tires.

Styling changes include a new round LED headlight with an integrated position light, complemented by LED lighting throughout. A 4.2-inch TFT display provides access to motorcycle information and electronic settings, while Suzuki Ride Connect+ smartphone integration adds navigation, weather updates and notifications when connected.

The 2027 SV-7S will be offered in two color combinations, including Pearl Suzuki Deep Blue No. 4 with a Matte Sword Silver frame and a predominantly silver version with blue wheels.

Pricing and U.S. availability have yet to be announced.
