British rider Tim Neave (VRX Power Maxed Dirt Store Ducati) clinched the 2026 FIM Flat Track World Championship at the 10th and final round in Totoras, Argentina, on Sunday, October 25, as home hotshot Juan Jose Coduri (KTM) raced to victory in an action-packed final.

After the penultimate round on Saturday, October 24, at the TT course, the series signed off on the more familiar oval circuit, where Argentinian racers used home advantage to dominate the championship regulars.

Neave started the event needing just one point to claim the crown, and a win in his third heat guaranteed him a top 20 finish—and that all-important point—to strike FIM gold.

Argentina’s Matias Lorenzato (Beta) took the lead in Sunday’s 12-lap final after Neave struggled off the line, and after resisting early pressure from Geronimo Castelli (KTM) and Jack Bell (Triumph), the Argentinian looked odds-on to repeat his Saturday TT win. Coduri was also laying down fast lap times, and by lap five he was up to second, but by this point Lorenzato held a clear lead until he slid off on lap nine.

Coduri inherited the lead and held it to the flag to win from Maximiliano Varas, Juan Martín Viganoni and Matias Emanuel Frey, with Bell taking silver in the championship. But even after recording his worst score of the season in 12th, a delighted Neave took the title, Great Britain’s first-ever FIM Flat Track World Champion.

A few American riders competed. Former champion Sammy Halbert went out in Sunday’s LCQ, capping a disappointing weekend for him.

Last-minute entry Dalton Gauthier had a strong showing representing Royal Enfield’s Sherpa 450 for the first time. Despite having zero time on the bike before the race, Gauthier topped his heat and finished fifth in Saturday’s TT.

Royal Enfield recruited American Dalton Gauthier for the final and had a strong showing on the Royal Enfield Sherpa 450.

Gauthier carried that momentum into the season finale short track on Sunday, setting the fastest time in both practice sessions against the 32-rider field. He then translated that speed into race pace. In a heat, Gauthier passed Neave’s Ducati and built a 1.5-second advantage.

Unfortunately for Gauthier, a mechanical in the main was a disappointing finish, but the Johnny Lewis-run Royal Enfield team still put in a positive effort, Royal Enfield’s best in the championship overall.CN
