Johann Zarco has been given the green light to participate in Free Practice 1 at Aragon. He will be reassessed after FP1. The Castrol Honda LCR rider has been out since Barcelona in May with injury.

Johann Zarco (Castrol Honda LCR) will be back on track during a MotoGP weekend for the first time since May when he leaves the pit lane at MotorLand Aragon. The number five has been given the all-clear to ride in Friday’s Free Practice 1 session after suffering from ligament injuries sustained in a crash at the Catalan GP. Zarco will be reassessed following the opening session of the Michelin Grand Prix of Aragon.
The Frenchman’s initial targeted return date was in September, but he was able to increase his workload in recent weeks which included riding a supermoto bike and a Honda CBR1000RR. The next step for Zarco was to undergo a mandatory medical check on Thursday at Aragon, and, after that check, he was given the green light to ride in Free Practice 1 on Friday morning. He will face further checks following this session to see whether he can take part in the subsequent track action.
