This is a press release from WorldSBK…

Donington Park, UK (July 10, 2026) — The Motul FIM Superbike World Championship celebrated one of its greatest-ever riders on Thursday evening at Donington Park, as “The Greatest” received its official premiere in the presence of Jonathan Rea ahead of the Prosecco DOC UK round.

Held in the SBK Garage hospitality at the heart of the WorldSBK paddock, the special screening brought together many of the people who played a defining role in Rea’s journey through the championship, including family members, former teammates, team managers, rivals and long-standing paddock figures, creating a fitting tribute to the six-time World Champion’s legendary career.

The premiere marked the launch of the six-episode documentary series, which explores the story behind the statistics. Through exclusive interviews with those closest to Rea, alongside the six-time World Champion himself, The Greatest offers an intimate look at the determination, resilience and relationships that defined an unparalleled WorldSBK career.

From his arrival in the championship with Honda to six consecutive world titles with Kawasaki, the series revisits the defining moments that established Rea as one of motorcycle racing’s all-time greats. It also shines a light on the personal side of the Northern Irishman, as well as the challenges that marked the final chapter of his full-time WorldSBK career.

'The Greatest' Jonathan Rea

Speaking at the premiere, Rea said, “I’m really proud of this documentary. As a fan of motorcycle racing, I always loved watching the documentaries Dorna produced about riders like Lorenzo, Stoner and Márquez. They gave me a chance to understand more about them, both as riders and as people, and to take something away that could help me in my own career. I’m incredibly grateful for all the work that’s gone into making ‘The Greatest.’ I’ve already watched the first few episodes, so I know how the story ends, but I’m really looking forward to seeing how fans experience it. I hope everyone enjoys watching it as much as I enjoyed being part of it.”

“WorldSBK has meant everything to me. It gave me the opportunity to live my dream, and if there’s one word that defines my career, it’s probably resilience. There were so many moments when things were tough, but I always found a way to keep fighting and overcome the challenges. Above all, I feel incredibly fortunate to have shared that journey with so many amazing people.”

Now available to watch on worldsbk.com [with an active subscription to the WorldSBK VideoPass], “The Greatest” consists of six episodes, each running between 10 and 15 minutes, and features 18 exclusive interviews with family members, friends, former colleagues, rivals and championship personalities who witnessed Rea’s rise to the top of WorldSBK.
