Galfer, a global leader in high-performance braking systems for motorcycles and bicycles, is officially clarifying its commercial and operational structure in the United States and Canada in response to inaccurate information that has circulated in recent months regarding the company’s position in the North American market.
Only Galfer Products Deliver Galfer Technology and Quality
Galfer has been a pioneer in braking technology for over seven decades. As the inventor of the Wave-shaped rotors, patented by Galfer in 1998, and the developer of proprietary technologies including Shark, Cubiq®, and Floatech®, the company has built its reputation on continuous investment in engineering, innovation, and product development.
Until September 2025, Galfer served the North American market through Giocar America Inc., which acted as the brand’s distributor for more than three decades. However, product development, engineering, manufacturing, technology, and global brand strategy have always remained exclusively under the direction and control of Galfer.
Galfer remains a single global brand operating under the direction of Galfer Industries.
There is no rebranding process. The products available through Galfer USA are the same Galfer products developed, engineered, manufactured, and distributed globally, featuring the same proprietary technologies, quality standards, and technical expertise that have defined the brand for decades.
Galfer is the sole official source of Galfer products. Any products or activities outside Galfer’s industrial and commercial structure are not part of the Galfer brand.
Giocar, Galfer’s former importer in North America, has recently launched its own independent braking products under the GBrakes brand.
Galfer has no affiliation, relationship, partnership, or involvement with GBrakes, which is an entirely separate and independent business venture and is not connected to Galfer, Galfer Industries, or any aspect of Galfer’s industrial, technological, or commercial operations.
Any communication suggesting that Galfer is transitioning to GBrakes, or implying that the two companies are connected, equivalent, or part of the same business continuity, is false and misleading.
Galfer USA: The Official Galfer Structure in North America
Over the past year, Galfer completed a major strategic initiative to strengthen its direct presence in North America, culminating in the establishment of Galfer USA in September 2025.
Based in Florida and fully integrated within the Galfer Industries organization, Galfer USA is the company’s official subsidiary and the sole authorized representative of the Galfer brand in the United States and Canada.
This strategic evolution reflects Galfer’s commitment to building even stronger relationships with distributors, dealers, industry professionals, and end users by providing improved product availability, specialized technical support, advanced training through the Galfer Academy, and faster delivery times across the region.

For the bicycle segment, Galfer’s official distribution partners are QBP and BTI, providing extensive market coverage and premium service to specialty bicycle retailers throughout North America.
