Located in Chico, California, Silver Dollar Speedway, a crown jewel for sprint-car fans, traded four wheels for two wheels over the May 2-3 weekend.

The track sits seven miles from Chico Regional Airport. When the Mission Foods/Cory Texter Promotions Showcase made its second stop in the Golden State in 2026, a “Jett” landed in Victory Lane multiple times. Jett Katarzy piloted his 1st Impressions Husqvarna to victories in the Mission Challenge Dash for Cash, the 450 Amateur main event, and the Open Amateur main event. A perfect night in his home state was nearly complete for the Tracy, California, rider, with one piece of business remaining.
The Road to AFT main event began with Illinois racer Braxton Ragan taking the lead aboard his Honda, with Katarzy in tow. Despite multiple attempts, Katarzy was unable to clear Ragan at the line. On the final lap, both Katarzy and Ragan turned their fastest laps of the event. As the checkered flag flew, Ragan narrowly edged Katarzy by 0.064 of a second. A walkoff to break up the shutout, which came after a brutal crash at the Senoia Showcase that kept Ragan out of action for a month earlier this year.
Cruise Texter wrapped up a perfect trip west, mirroring his results from a week ago in Ventura. Texter piloted his Cobra 50cc and GasGas 65cc to victories in the 50cc Chain, 65cc, and Mini Open main events. Texter also earned top honors in the night’s G&G Racing 65cc Dash. Like Texter, Jackson Joiner matched his results from the previous Showcase. Joiner doubled up in his home state, winning both the 85cc and Youth Premier main events. Joiner’s only misfortune on track came on the final lap of the G&G Racing 85cc Dash, where, after leading the first five laps, Brody Davis went for a last-lap pass on Joiner, causing both riders to run wide and open the door for Carson Lyons to come through for the victory.

Jonathan Schaefer and Oliver Cox found Victory Lane on multiple occasions. For Schaefer, his success came in the Framer Shootout and the Running of the Bulls main event. Oliver Cox delivered commanding rides in Open Novice and 250 Amateur action to secure those victories.
After winning the 40+ main event, Scooter Vernon looked poised to double up in Chico as well. Vernon led the first nine laps of the 30+ main event before a lapped rider impeded his path to victory. Kyle Anslemi took advantage, stealing a win in the final feet of the run to the checkered flag.

Of the 20 classes contested at Silver Dollar Speedway, 14 different riders earned main-event wins. Those not previously mentioned include Jada Parker (Women’s), David Sauceda (50cc Air-Cooled), Bryan Berna (Vintage), Shawn Raggio (Hooligan), Jeff Mason (60+) and Eric Green (50+).
The Mission Foods/CTR Showcase team now makes the long haul across the country for a date at Budds Creek in Maryland on Friday, May 15.CN
