Quad Lock Superbikes Race Two

The first round of the 2026 Quad Lock Superbike Championship is officially complete at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta as North America’s premier motorcycle road racing series closes the first weekend of the 50th anniversary of Superbike racing. Sunday experienced cooler temperatures than Saturday and brought overcast skies and some noticeable wind for the riders.

Attack Performance Progressive Yamaha Racing’s Bobby Fong took the win in a tight battle with fellow YZF-R1 pilot and race one winner, Strack Racing’s Mathew Scholtz. Fong began the race in second and spent 17 laps behind last year’s Supersport Champion taking multiple looks at turn 10A but could not gain the advantage before the corner, tucking back in line each time.

Fong (50) hit back with the race two win ahead of Scholtz (11).

With two laps remaining, Scholtz dropped off the pace down the backstretch allowing Fong past. Prior to this, the two had been separated by no more than half a second for most of the contest.  Fong went on to win the race by a margin of 2.921 seconds while Scholtz nursed his Yamaha home to a second-place finish, 6.270 seconds ahead of third place.

OrangeCat Racing’s Sean Dylan Kelly scored another podium performance with a third-place finish aboard his BMW M 1000 RR. The Hollywood, Florida, native navigated through a solid first Superbike weekend with his OrangeCat Racing team, with a pair of podiums for a solid start to the season, second in points.

JD Beach had a lonely race in fourth aboard his Attack Performance Progressive Yamaha YZF-R1 but salvaged valuable points after a race one DNF from a mechanical failure.

Fifth-place finisher Cameron Beaubier leaves Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta third in points after a hard-fought weekend. The six-time Superbike champ started from 20th position once again, and made his way to P6 by the sixth lap. Beaubier found himself within reach of a top five and overtook Wrench Motorcycle Cameron Petersen’s Ducati Panigale V4 R, securing a fifth-place finish.

In seventh place was the Real Steel Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP of Hayden Gillim, just beating out M4 ECSTAR Suzuki’s Brandon Paasch in eighth aboard his GSX-R1000.

Warhorse HSBK Ducati Flo4Law’s Benjamin Smith and Mission Foods M4 ECSTAR Suzuki’s Richie Escalante rounded out the top 10.

Supersport Race Two

The second round of the 2026 MotoAmerica Supersport Championship at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta is in the books. With much cooler temperatures than Saturday’s race one, riders commented that traction was readily available around the 2.54-mile Georgia circuit, likely resulting in the new lap record in Supersport and four other lap records in the support classes.

Herrin (2) held off Binder for his second win of the year.

Rahal Ducati Moto with Desnuda Organic Tequila rider Josh Herrin took the win in race two aboard his Ducati Panigale V4 R. The 2022 Supersport champion spent the first half of the race in the lead group of four riders before making his move to first on lap nine. Once Herrin had a clear track in front of him, the 33-year-old Californian stretched out a 1.490-second gap over second place and set a new Supersport lap record in the process at 1:27.554.

Second-place finisher, Celtic/Economy Lube + Tire/Warhorse’s Darryn Binder led the first half of the race and defended multiple pass attempts from the riders behind him at turn 10a. The South African Supersport race one winner showed he has the speed to run directly with Herrin and briefly set his own Supersport lap record of 1:27.613 on lap 15 before Herrin eclipsed him by .059 of a second and trails Herrin by just three points.

M4 ECSTAR Suzuki’s Tyler Scott was the only other rider to dip into the minute-27 club with a 1:27.938 on lap 11. The GSX-R750 rider could not keep touch with the leaders, however, as they consistently put down minute-27’s for the remainder of the race. Scott finished 6.6 seconds behind the leader to cap off the podium. Scott is third in points with 56 points.

Rahal Ducati Moto with Droplight’s Kayla Yaakov brought her Ducati Panigale V2 home in fourth position. The polesitter ran as high as third for a moment before falling behind the lead group, finishing 6.9 seconds behind the leader. She sits fourth in points with 42 heading into the next round.

Rounding out the top five was Strack Racing’s Blake Davis aboard his Yamaha YZF-R9. After finishing third in race one, Davis heads to Barber fifth in points with 36 on the board.

Superbike Cup Race Two

BPR Racing Yamaha’s Deion Campbell was the first Superbike Cup finisher from race two and finished the first lap in ninth ahead of some Superbikes. As expected, the higher-spec machinery of M4 ECSTAR Suzuki’s Brandon Paasch, OrangeCat Racing’s Jayson Uribe, and a hard-charging Warhorse HSBK Ducati Flo4Law Beaubier from 20th on the grid. Campbell hung on to the top “Cup spot”, beating Superbike Cup points leader, Real Steel Honda’s Andrew Lee, by just .061 of a second.

The third Superbike Cup finisher from race two was Alex Dumas aboard his Aftercare Scheibe Racing/Jones Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP.

Talent Cup Race Two

A red-flag-abbreviated Talent Cup race two saw Kensei Matsudaira take the win and record the first double victory of his young MotoAmerica career, extending his win streak to three.

The Team Roberts rider spent the majority of the race in second place, chased by Team Hammer’s Jake Paige as Quarterly Racing’s Nathan Gouker dictated the pace up front.

Matsudaira (74) grabbed a slender win in race two.

The trio remained inseparable through the duration of the race. On the final lap, on the back straight, the group tightened. The three riders went three-wide into turn 10A, forcing a dash, led by Matsudaira to the line.

The lead would stick, with Matsudaira over Gouker by .104, followed by Paige in third and .117 behind Gouker.

Third-place finisher, Team Hammer’s Jake Paige was not only the rider rounding out the podium. He also managed to set a new Talent Cup lap record with a 1:40.191 in race two.

Yamaha BLU CRU Estenson Racing’s Sam Drane once again found himself in the lead pack and capped off the weekend with a fourth-place finish.

Mission King of The Baggers Race Two

J&P Cycles/Motul/Vance & Hines Factory Indian rider Hayden Gillim won pretty much everything there is to win in Mission King Of The Baggers here at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta. The 31-year-old from Owensboro, Kentucky, found himself sitting on pole for the weekend’s races after setting a new lap record in Qualifying 2 with a 1:27.669, just .115 of a second slower than the new Supersport lap record set by Josh Herrin.

Gillim (69) was untouchable all weekend in the Baggers.

Gillim went on to win the Mission King Of The Baggers Challenge, Saturday’s race one, and Sunday’s race two. To add a cherry to the top of his Sunday race, he tacked on a new race lap record at 1:27.959.

Gillim’s J&P Cycles/Motul/Vance & Hines Factory Indian teammates Rocco Landers and Troy Herfoss finished second and third respectively, creating an all Indian Challenger podium in The Peach State.

Harley-Davidson x Dynojet Factory Racing’s Bradley Smith finished fourth with SDI Racing’s Tyler O’Hara rounding out the top five.

Twins Cup Race Two

The Twins Cup Championship had a rough start to race two with Robem Engineering’s Hank Vossberg highsiding his Aprilia RS 660 in turn 4, and Speed Demon Racing Powered by Ready to Ride’s Logan Cunnison crashing his Aprilia RS 660 just after Vossberg. With Cunnison’s bike in a less than ideal position on the race course, the original eight-lap contest was red-flagged and shortened to five laps.

During the race stoppage, Vossberg returned to the pits with the left handlebar almost touching the front fairing it was so bent, and some other cosmetic damage. More concerning however, was his visible limp after landing hard on his right hip. His Robem Engineering crew was able to fix the bike, and the Wisconsinite showed his toughness by gridding up for the restart. Cunnison was not able to make it back in time for the restart.

On the restart, M4 ECSTAR Suzuki’s Matthew Chapin jumped out to an early lead on his GSX-8R and led all five laps of the race, winning by a comfortable margin of  2.6 seconds.

Second-place finisher, Robem Engineering’s Hank Vossberg was still limping when he returned aboard his Aprilia RS 660 to the podium. The Wisconsin native tucked in behind the leader Chapin in turn one and occupied second place for the entire duration of the race finishing ahead of third place by .944 of a second.

Third place went to Karns/TST Industries Racing rider Kevin Olmedo aboard his Suzuki GSX-8R. The El Salvador native started in sixth position and worked quickly to make three passes in just five short laps, making his final overtake for third came on the final trip around the Georgia circuit.

Behind Olmedo was a tight group of riders in fourth through seventh, separated by just a tenth or two of a second each. M4 ECSTAR Suzuki’s Bodie Paige was fourth, Karns/TST Industries Racing’s Isaac Woodworth was fifth, Ghetto Customs team owner and rider Chris Parrish was sixth, and TAB Performance’s Kyle Ohnsorg was seventh.

Quad Lock Superbikes Race One

The first race day of the 2026 Quad Lock Superbike Championship was full of surprises to start the 50th Anniversary season. The early sessions of the race weekend had already sent several Superbike and Superbike Cup riders to the back of the grid, back to the pits, or home for the weekend.

When the lights went out for race one, it was Strack Racing’s Mathew Scholtz who led from the early stages, and he never looked back. Following a red-flag restart, Scholtz was out front again, and he took the win while also setting the fastest lap of the race at 1:24.406. His victory by margin of 6.630 seconds didn’t just make a statement, it practically shouted it.

Scholtz got up to P1 on his Superbike return.

While Scholtz pulled away, the rider who led day one and carries the number-one plate, Warhorse HSBK Ducati Flo4Law’s Cameron Beaubier, was doing his best Pac-Man impression.

After an out-lap crash in Qualifying, Beaubier failed to register a lap time, putting him 21st on the grid for the weekend’s two races. In the premier class start, Beaubier advanced 13 positions, all the way up to eighth place, as he experienced a mechanical and pulled into the pits for what seemed a Saturday to forget.

While his Warhorse HSBK Ducati Flo4Law crew worked feverishly on his motorcycle, a red flag was thrown due to a crash that left a bike in a perilous position on the track.

Meanwhile, Attack Performance Progressive Yamaha’s Bobby Fong, who had crashed out of second place just prior to the red flag being flown, was deemed to be not actively competing, so he was unable to line up on the grid for the restart.

The second start mimicked the first, with Scholtz up front, Attack Performance Progressive Yamaha’s JD Beach in second, and Sean Dylan Kelly was third aboard his OrangeCat Racing BMW M 1000 RR.

The trailing duo held their positions through six laps before Beach began to experience a mechanical issue that halted his progress and forced him to the pits, moving Kelly up to second and Wrench Motorcycles’ Cameron Petersen to third.

Beaubier, meanwhile, clawed back positions and was in 11th place by the end of lap one. By lap nine, he was right on the back wheel of Petersen in third.

With three laps remaining, Beaubier overtook Petersen and continued his hunt toward Kelly. A mere .316 of a second separated the two at the line as Beaubier overcame adversity to notch his first podium of the year and secure 16 critical points the hard way.

2025 Stock 1000 Champion Andrew Lee, aboard a Real Steel Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP for 2026, finished first among the field of Superbike Cup riders.

Supersport Race One

Darryn Binder was victorious in Supersport race one aboard his Celtic/Economy Lube + Tire/Warhorse Ducati Panigale V2. The South African rider led the field for the entire 18-lap event, and he is now just two points out of the championship lead.

M4 ECSTAR Suzuki’s Tyler Scott, who is the current points leader, brought his GSX-R750 home in second place. The Pennsylvanian finished a mere .378 of a second behind Binder.

Binder made it a South African 1-2 from Superbike to Supersport.

Blake Davis claimed the final spot on the podium, bringing his Strack Racing Yamaha YZF-R9 home in third. Despite starting fifth, Davis surged forward to battle Binder for the lead, and a charging BPR Racing YZF-R9 of Josh Hayes. However, a trip through the gravel trap after running wide at turn 10a would let Hayes by, and filter Davis back to fifth on lap 14. The veteran Hayes showed top-three pace, but he low-sided in Turn 1 on the following lap, and Davis climbed back to third by the checkered flag.

Fourth-place finisher was polesitter Kayla Yaakov on her Rahal Ducati Moto with Droplight Ducati Panigale V2. Yaakov made history in the morning qualifying session by becoming the first female to qualify on pole for a MotoAmerica Supersport race.

Rahal Ducati Moto with Desnuda Organic Tequila rider Josh Herrin finished fifth after running wide at turn 12 on the first lap. Herrin had to tip-toe his way out of the gravel, and by the time he rejoined was dropped to 21st position. The five-time DAYTONA 200 winner would go on to pass 16 riders in the ensuing laps to bring himself back up to fifth position, salvaging valuable championship points.

Mission King of The Baggers Race One

J&P Cycles/Motul/Vance & Hines Factory Indian continues 2026 with two undefeated Indian Challengers, as Hayden Gillim secures his second win of the season in a battle with his own teammate, and only other King Of The Baggers winner this season, Troy Herfoss.

The duo parried attacks, with a bout card that ended with Herfoss leading three laps, Gillim leading six, and .167 of a second deciding the victor.

With 2025 Champion Kyle Wyman crashing out on the first lap, it was Bradley Smith on the Harley-Davidson X DynoJet Factory Racing team who finished first for the Motor Company, securing his first podium in King Of The Baggers, 3.256 seconds from race winner Gillim.

Talent Cup Race One

Kensei Matsudaira of Team Roberts took the victory by just .150 of a second over second place, starting a streak from race two at Circuit of The Americas last month, alongside MotoGP.

Rossi Motorsports’ Rossi Garcia found the podium for his first time in Talent Cup, finishing second by a mere .150 of a second.

It was Nathan Gouker (Quarterley Racing) who claimed third, finishing .425 of a second behind the race winner, and is headed into Sunday’s race two, second in the standings, with a gap of nine points to Matsudaira, and a lead of 19 to Rossi who sits third.

The top five were rounded out by Real Steel Honda’s Derek Sanchez in fourth and Bettencourt Racing’s Nathan Bettencourt in fifth.

Jake Paige, who had the lead to begin the last lap, made a lunge in the final corner that didn’t stick, and he now sits fourth in the championship.

Twins Cup Race One

M4 ECSTAR Suzuki’s Bodie Paige and Robem Engineering’s Hank Vossberg continue their battles in Twins Cup, following their Talent Cup graduation, as fellow classmate, Sam Drane, splits time in both classes for 2026. The three leave Saturday at Road Atlanta on top of the Twins Cup standings: Vossberg (66 pts), Drane (55 pts), and Paige (49 pts).

Saturday’s Qualifying 2 resulted in a 1:33:062 lap from Paige on his Suzuki GSX-8R that was good enough to secure pole position for race one.

Joining Paige in the sub-1:35 combined times were Paige’s M4 ECSTAR Suzuki teammate Matthew Chapin, Vossberg, and Speed Demon Racing Powered by Ready to Ride’s Logan Cunnison.

The 30-rider field started the eight-lap race with a tight group out front, but it was Paige and Vossberg who pulled away from the group to play their own game of cat and mouse.

After four laps with Paige crossing the line in first, Vossberg made his move to complete the fifth lap in the lead.

A premature ending, decided by a red flag and two-thirds distance, decided Vossberg as the race winner, Paige in second .279 of a second behind, and Cunnison on the final step of the podium.

Build.Train.Race Race One

The Royal Enfield Build.Train.Race. showcased the 2026 class for their first race of the year, as ten riders lined up on spec machines.

The five-lap battle saw a four-way fight to the finish where the podium was separated by less than a second. It was Brianna Cutler who found a way through, from third to first, taking the first victory of the year, while she recorded the best lap of the race at 1:57.059.

Jasmine Noelle, in second, crossed the line just .722 of a second behind Cutler.

Third place went to Bryanna Everitt, who remained in striking distance throughout the race, finishing 0.123 shy of second.

Supersport

The top five riders in Supersport are separated by less than one second after the first qualifying session.

Rahal Ducati Moto with Desnuda Organic Tequila’s Josh Herrin set the provisional pole aboard his Ducati Panigale V2. Herrin began the session in the 1:29 range, but a mid-session red flag brought riders into the pits for about 15 minutes while crews cleaned up oil on the racetrack. Herrin’s crew made a few adjustments to his bike during the stoppage, which helped him take the top spot with a 1:28.600.
