Welcome to Washougal! Today serves as round eight of the 2026 Pro Motocross Championship as the series takes to Washougal MX in Washougal, Washington. There’s new leaders in both title hunts and today will certainly serve as a look into the future championships. Let’s get into the action!

450 MOTO 1
The excitement in the first 450 moto was over just about as fast as it began. Haiden Deegan looked to have the jump on the rest of the field but he slid the front wheel out going into the first turn. While he technically still grabbed the holeshot, this caused Deegan to hit the deck and remount back in dead last for the second week in a row.
Jett Lawrence capitalized on this mistake and immediately jumped to the lead. He remained unchallenged for all 16 laps and logged another wire-to-wire victory over the rest of the field. Jett set his fastest lap of the race on lap 11 and broke away from Hunter in the same fashion as last week’s second moto.
Hunter Lawrence followed his brother in for second, a spot he secured on the opening lap. Jorge Prado completed the top three in a lonely third place after starting up front with both Lawrences but slowly losing the tow.
Deegan remounted unscathed and put in a series of hot laps. His speed showed why he was today’s fastest qualifier and the rookie continuously picked off series veterans as the laps wore on. He crossed the finish line in fourth place.
450 MOTO 2
The second 450 moto saw both Lawrences up front again with Haiden Deegan right behind. In the opening laps, all three riders ran in close succession and it looked to be a showdown to end the day. With Hunter Lawrence leading, Jett made a critical error going over Horsepower Hill which shot him off the track. He accelerated around the outside of the course and re-entered still ahead of Deegan. This move earned him a penalty of one position which he was later served.
Jett recovered well from this mistake and set his sights back on Hunter who led for the first half of the moto. Finally, on lap nine, Jett made a move stick and found himself at the front of the pack. Just one lap later though he spun out and handed the lead right back in his brother’s favor. Even with a hard-fought effort, Jett could not regain the lost time and finished second in the moto before receiving the one-spot penalty.
Hunter Lawrence clinched another overall and further extended his points lead to 12. A win in the second moto (even before Jett’s penalty) gave him enough points to take the day with 2-1 scores. This marks his sixth win of the season and continues the Lawrence domination as they’ve owned every moto thus far.
Haiden Deegan hung tough for third on track but was awarded second in moto two. The Star Racing Yamaha rider started up front with both Lawrence brothers but eventually lost the pace after the first half of the race. 4-2 finishes put him third on the day.

250 MOTO 1
Another big crash took place at the start of the first 250 moto as Landen Gordon tucked the front going into turn one. Championship contenders Levi Kitchen and Julien Beaumer found themselves caught up in the drama while the rest of the field took off.
Cole Davies totally controlled the opening race. After a tragic round at Millville one week prior, the Star Racing Yamaha rider went unchallenged for all 16 laps and took home maximum points. His fastest lap was nearly two full seconds quicker than anyone else on track which allowed him to open up a 10-plus second lead at the finish. This was best case scenario for Davies as both Kitchen and Beaumer finished outside the top five.
Ryder DiFrancesco earned a career-best second place finish in moto one. The Rockstar Husqvarna rider snuck through the chaos in turn one and found himself trailing Davies on the opening lap. Davies’ pace was just too fast and DiFrancesco couldn’t bridge the gap. Still, he kept third at bay and claimed his personal best outdoor finish.
Chance Hymas continued his momentum after winning one week ago and finished third in moto one with Daxton Bennick and Carson Mumford rounding out the top five.
Levi Kitchen finished sixth with Julien Beaumer crossing in and eighth after both crashing in the first turn.
250 MOTO 2
Cole Davies’ initials “CD” must stand for “complete domination” because that’s exactly what he did again in moto two. Once again, the New Zealand native passed for the lead on lap two and simply took off from the rest of the pack. He rode away with another clear victory and led all but one lap today en route to a 1-1 sweep, his second of the season. More importantly he gained massive ground in the championship, bumping to second and moving himself to just seven points back from the red plate.
Ryder DiFrancesco backed up his first moto score with another second place finish, putting him second on the day. The California native grabbed the holeshot and led the opening lap before surrendering the spot to Davies on lap two. Ryder D hung tough and kept Davies within sight before again finishing 10 seconds back. Still, this result is huge for the Husqvarna rider as it is only his second-career overall podium. He now sits fourth in the championship.
Chance Hymas earned his second overall podium of the season with another third in the second moto. He ran third for the entire race, much like he did in the first gate drop. This consistency is a big step forward for Hymas, as even his win a week ago was met with a ninth in the opening moto. He’s now claimed two podiums in back-to-back weeks and is fifth in the season standings.
Carson Mumford found himself up front again, going 5-4 for fourth on the day. Points leader Levi Kitchen took a pair of sixths which put him fifth on the day. He lost valuable points but still holds the red plate going into the break.

450 QUALIFYING
Haiden Deegan is the fastest 450 qualifier for the first time this year. The 450 rookie set the pace early in the first qualifying session and used that time to earn pole position for the first time in his career. Deegan was 0.3 seconds quicker than second place Garrett Marchbanks who also earned his best qualifying position of the season. Jett Lawrence put down the fastest lap in the second qualifier but was third overall, 0.04 seconds faster than points leader, Hunter Lawrence. Jorge Prado rounded out the top five and was the first rider not on the 2:08 mark.

250MX QUALIFYING
Cole Davies is back on top of the board as he set the fastest qualifying lap in the 250 class. Davies is bouncing back nicely after a tough race last weekend where he lost the red plate. The Star Racing Yamaha rider set the time to beat in the second session which is most similar to the race conditions later in the day. Julien Beaumer is fresh off his first-career overall win and took second overall with his time from Q1. Ryder DiFrancesco looked fast all morning and posted the third-best time of the day. Drew Adams and Chance Hymas rounded out the top five after sitting inside the top three during Q1.
