The 2026 Monster Energy SuperMotocross World Championship invades Cleveland, Ohio for the first time in 30 years for round 14 of this year’s campaign. Tonight’s race features a Triple Crown format for both the 250 and 450 divisions as the points continue to remain close. Here’s all the action from today’s racing!
Ken Roczen and Nate Thrasher ended the night with their overall wins, gaining crucial ground in the championship hunt.

450SX
Ken Roczen claimed the overall win in the 450SX division. Race one saw the Suzuki rider take a safe second place to points leader Hunter Lawrence after Roczen struggled to get around Justin Cooper in the opening laps. This allowed Lawrence to get away with the early lead as Roczen settled into the second spot. Race two again saw Roczen slide into second as Justin Cooper fired back with a big win. This put the two tied in overall points heading into the final race. Roczen answered the call with a crucial holeshot and led every lap of race three. He managed to score 2-2-1 finishes and racked up five total points, by far the lowest score of the field. A dominant win to cap off the night became more important as Lawrence crashed multiple times in the muddy conditions and only added to Roczen’s points take. With the overall win in hand, along with Lawrence’s struggles, the 94 now sits just one point out of the championship lead. It’s anyone’s race with just three rounds remaining.

“I am so blown away with the gamble we took with the weather,” Roczen said. “It was supposed to be clear for the last two races, but it kept raining. That affected my decision with goggles, and I kept sticking with roll-offs just to be safe. After I got the holeshot in the last race I had a clear track and just felt really comfortable. Once I had a gap, I just made sure I didn’t do anything silly. I’m just so grateful I’m able to ride like this.”

Cooper Webb finished second overall for the second week in a row. The Monster Energy Star Racing Yamaha rider showed strong pace from the first qualifying session and put that to use in the three main events. Webb, the defending champ, only got better as the track got worse. After a fifth in race one, he backed that up with a fourth in race two, and finally a second to end the night. The final race of the night proved critical as it gave Webb the tiebreaker against his Yamaha teammate Justin Cooper for second on the overall podium. Even better for Webb is the fact that Eli Tomac sat out for the night, more on that later, as it allowed his to overtake for third in the series standings.

“What a crazy day,” Webb said. “I rode bad in the first race but got better for the last two. I didn’t think I had a chance for the podium after the first two, so I rode free in the last one. Kenny rode those first laps like it was dry and got away. I was a distant second. Overall, I’m happy with it.”

Justin Cooper claimed the final spot on the box in third overall. Cooper can easily be considered a front runner in 2026 as he put up a fight against Roczen in the first race before eventually finishing third. He then reasserted himself with a big win in race two and sat tied in overall points with Roczen coming into the third gate drop. Unfortunately an untimely crash in the final main event derailed his hopes for a first career overall victory. Cooper salvaged seventh at the line and tied his teammate Webb with 11 total points. Webb’s better finish in the final main gave him the edge for the better spot on the podium. Still, this marks Cooper’s eighth 450SX podium in 52 starts.

“I’m happy to get up from the crash unscathed, the concrete hurt,” Cooper said. “Just glad to be up on the podium still. I spun off the gate but somehow came out top five and then had that crash. It was a bummer to go down and give away a spot but just thankful I’m okay. It was still a great night.”

Chase Sexton grabbed third in race two but finished just off the podium in fourth overall, with Joey Savatgy rounding out the top five.
“Cleveland was a tough night with how much the track changed from start to finish, but I’m taking a lot of positives out of it,” Sexton said. “I felt more comfortable on the bike as the night went on and started to find a better flow in the later races, which is something we’ve been building toward. The results don’t fully show it, but I feel like we’re getting closer each weekend. Now it’s about putting everything together for a full night in Philly next week.”

And for Hunter Lawrence? The 450SX points leader looked to be in control once again as he started the night with an easy win in race two. A fifth in race two still kept him in the runnings but it all unraveled with two crashes in the final race of the night. As the rains came down, Lawrence hit the deck twice and dropped to 14th in the running order. This added to his total score and ultimately landed him sixth overall. With Roczen scoring maximum points, Lawrence now only leads by one going into the final three-race stretch.

“I had a bad start and just made it tough on myself,” Lawrence said. “Another rider checked up and I went down. It was a bit of a shit night at the office. We’ll come back next weekend in Philly.”

Another title hopeful, Eli Tomac, saw his title hopes essentially slashed as he never even lined up for the night show. Tomac suffered a big hit as he crashed in the whoops during a crash in the first timed qualifying session and took most of the impact in his shoulder and hip. He walked off under his own power and tried to ride the second session but ultimately pulled the plug.

“The decision was made for him to park his KTM 450 SX-F Factory Edition and undergo further medical evaluation after experiencing ongoing discomfort in his hip region,” the Red Bull Factory KTM team said. “Further information will be released once available.”

250SX

Nate Thrasher was due for a win and he got exactly that on Saturday night. While the 250SX veteran is not in the conversation for this year’s title fight, he’s been trending upwards over the last three rounds. Thrasher put up a fight in all three main events but highlighted his night with a commanding win on the second moto. This set him up with the advantage heading into the finale and a fourth place result proved good enough to claim the overall. 2-1-4 finishes put him on top the podium with a combined seven points for the seventh win of his career. Thrasher has won at least one race in every season since turning pro back in 2021 and he padded that stat with another dub in Cleveland.

“I felt like I was going to be able to contend for the championship but had a little mishap [shoulder injury],” Thrasher said. “That’s part of it, though. We’ve done what we can–fourth, second, and now first. We’re trending and it feels good to be back up here.”

Landen Gordon finished second overall in his second professional Supercross race. After sustaining a flat tire and a last place finish one week ago in his pro debut, it was only up for the Star Racing Yamaha rookie. Gordon, a two-time SMX Next Supercross winner, started the night in fourth but kept improving as the night progressed and racked up two second places in the final two mains. It must’ve felt like another day at the Star Racing farm as Gordon followed his teammates Thrasher and Davies in for the runner-up spots. 4-2-2 scores gave him eight points and put him only one back from Thrasher in the overall rankings.

“If you would have told me after last weekend I’d be sitting on the podium, that’d be unbelievable,” Gordon said. “I’ve put in so much work into this. I’m backed by the best team, so I expect this, but it’s truly unbelievable. I have no words. I’m sure it’ll sink in, but right now I’m in shock.”

Cole Davies took third and made it a Star Racing Yamaha podium sweep. It’s hard to believe this is the young New Zealander’s second-worst finish of the year – he started the season with a fifth in Arlington. Davies seemed to be rushing passes in the first race of the night and found himself on the ground while battling for a podium position before finishing fifth. The rain and a red flag restart threw another wrench at the points leader as he was off the podium again in fourth. He found his mojo in race three and a dominant win gave him the tiebreaker needed against rival Seth Hammaker for third overall. By finishing one spot better, Davies gained more ground in the 250SX East championship.

“It was a rough day, but we still managed a podium,” Davies said. “I didn’t give up and fought through. Just reset for the last race and got the win. It is what it is. Congrats to my teammates, they were riding good.”

Seth Hammaker started the night with a big win but ended up finishing fourth overall. A crash at the start of race three spelled detriment for Hammaker as he only made it up to sixth and tied in total points with Davies. This marks another round where Hammaker has lost points to Davies, he now sits 21 down with two rounds left.

“Today started off feeling really good. The track was in great shape early on before the weather came in, and I felt strong in the first race getting the win. After that, the conditions changed a lot with the rain, and it made things pretty challenging. I had a crash off the start in the final race and had to come from the back of the field, but I put my head down and charged as far forward as I could to sixth. Being one spot off the podium and fourth overall is tough, especially since I feel like I’ve been riding the best I have all season. The last couple of weekends haven’t gone my way, but I’m looking forward to bouncing back at my hometown race in Philly.”

450 QUALIFYING
The 450 Qualifying sessions were the subject of all the action this morning. Eli Tomac looked fast early on but a big crash in the whoop section saw him exit the track in the Alpinestars cart. He was evaluated and cleared with no breaks and rode again in Q2 but opted out early on. His time qualified him straight into the night show but Tomac is out for tonight’s racing due to lingering pain in his shoulder and hip.

Points leader Hunter Lawrence topped the overall times for the 450SX division. Lawrence took his time before laying down a heater but was one of only four riders in the 44-second range. Look for the 96 to be a threat once again in the main events. Cooper Webb was fastest in the first qualifying session but was second in the overall rankings. He put his Star Racing Yamaha on top of the pole early on and showed strong pace against the rest of the field. Malcolm Stewart clocked third overall on his Rockstar Energy Husqvarna, just six-tenths back from Lawrence. Ken Roczen and Jorge Prado rounded out the top five.

250 QUALIFYING
Points leader, Cole Davies put his Star Racing Yamaha on top of the charts once again in both 250 class sessions. Davies was the only 250 rider in the 45-second range, making him the fastest one in the field. Seth Hammaker was second overall but nearly a full second behind Davies. He’ll need to get to the top spot if he wants to stay in the title hunt. Daxton Bennick was third overall and the final 250 rider on a 46-second lap.
