The 2026 X Games made its third stop on this year’s schedule at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. This is the first time an X Games has been held in Louisiana and serves as the final round of this year’s Moon Pay X Games League, where teams rack up points over the three rounds. Best Whip and Best Trick still serve as the two staple Moto X events.
Best Trick
Moto X Best Trick wrapped up this year’s two-wheel extravaganza with all three medals going to front flip variations. No cheater ramp either, just lean forward and hope for the best. Jose “Mincha” Casona of Spain unleashed a never-been-done front-flip double grab to take the gold medal, the first of his career. His scored topped the podium with a 97.00.
“I got my goal,” Mincha said. “Dreaming about this many nights, hard work to get it I promise. I’ve been watching Pastrana at the X Games since I was a kid and always wanted to be here one day—I’ve done it, and with a gold medal. I don’t know what to say; I love you guys.”
Rob Adelberg grabbed a silver medal with his front flip dead body. The Australian rider didn’t hit the full extension that he wanted but still beat took second place by 0.33 points. He racked up the 23rd medal of his career, all either gold, silver, or bronze. “Didn’t get the extension I had at home in practice, but just shows how gnarly it is.” Adelberg said.
Patrick Evans backed up his gold from last month with a bronze in New Orleans. Evans continued to be the only rider competing on an all-electric Stark Varg and completed another front-flip variation, this time a Seat Grab Indian Air. His single grab narrowly lost out to the top two finishers, scoring a flat 96.00 from the judges for the bronze.
Best Whip
Hometown hero, Wyatt Fontenot secured his first-ever X Games gold medal with the win in Best Whip. The Louisiana native went big for his final jump and turned the bike upside down for the New Orleans fans. Fontenot grabbed his first X Games medal, a bronze, just one month ago at X Games Sacramento and now jumps to the top of the podium with a gold medal.
“We worked hard for this,” Fontenot said. “This is such an amazing feeling.”
Tom Parsons added another silver medal to his collection with second place in Best Whip, a repeat result from Sacramento. Two-time defending gold medalist, Julien Vanstippen landed in third with a bronze medal.
