Joey Savatgy has found a new home at FirePower Honda just ahead of the gate drop on the four-round 2024 World Supercross series. Savatgy, who
recently departed the Triumph Factory Racing Team, is also set to race the CRF450R in the upcoming AMA Supercross and Pro Motocross Championship come 2025.
“To get the call from this team was exactly what I needed,” Savatgy said. “I wanted to race a 450, but unfortunately, the team I was with didn’t have one. This team has proven themselves in the 450 class—[Justin] Brayton’s been on the podium in the U.S…We have a good starting platform and aren’t starting from scratch.”
In the announcement video Savatgy is seen riding the 2024 Honda CRF450R and wearing his new team gear which includes a Fly Racing Helmet, Oakley goggles (personal deal), Fly Racing gear, and Alpinestars boots. He is expected to join Dean Wilson as the team’s SX1 riders. The World Supercross schedule kicks off with the Canadian Grand Prix on October 26.
