OMG Racing Yamaha’s Bradley Ray and McCams Yamaha rider Jason O’Halloran took the three wins on offer at the fourth round of the 2022 British Superbike Championship, June 18-19, at the tight and twisty Knockhill circuit in Scotland.
Ray was impervious in race one, taking pole position and a 1.6-second race win over O’Halloran with Kawasaki’s Rory Skinner completing the podium in third.
O’Halloran got his revenge in races two and three, however. The Australian took race two by 0.7 seconds from Kawasaki’s Lee Jackson and Skinner, and he took race two by 0.9 seconds from Ray and Jackson.
“It’s been an incredible weekend,” O’Halloran said, “yesterday I was absolutely buzzing with second. This isn’t the best track for me, but I enjoyed the race yesterday and I was looking forward to today. The guys have done a great job with the bike, improved it a bit off the back of yesterday and it felt incredible and managed to get another pair of wins.
“We’ve had four wins in the last six races, six podiums from six races and we are closing down the podium points and championship leads. I’m feeling super strong in the races, in complete control and I can’t wait to keep progressing and getting stronger as the season moves on.”
O’Halloran’s haul moves him to within 16 points of Ray in the title, 216 to 200, with Jackson third at 174. CN
