2020 Yamaha Tenere 700 Rally Edition Debuts in Europe

Yamaha Europe has unveiled a stunning tribute to their 1980s Dakar racebikes in the new 2020 Yamaha Ténéré 700 Rally Edition. The only problem is, it’s a Euro model only (cue American booing).
We’ve spent a fair bit of time of late on the 700, first at the European launch last year and lately when Yamaha USA launched the machine, the test of which you can read here.
The 2020 Yamaha Ténéré 700 Rally Edition gets a few goodies to go with the beautiful blue and black “speedblock” Yamaha race colors including a 4mm thick skid plate with toolbox mounting point, aluminum radiator protector, aluminum chain guard, rally seat, Akrapovic slip-on exhaust, LED signals, grip pads, and off-road handlebar grips.
The machine is a rolling tribute to the feats of Serge Bacou and Jean-Claude Olivier in the Paris Dakar in the early 1980s, at a time when rally racing was still in its infancy and when the original Paris-Dakar took in much of the top half of the African continent.
The real question now will be if Yamaha USA decides to bring the model stateside. Let’s hope they do, for this is one very special looking adventure motorcycle.
