This is a press release from National Hare & Hound Association…
The 2020 Kenda SRT AMA National Hare and Hound season opener is scheduled for this weekend in Lucerne, California in Johnson Valley.
Round one is hosted by Desert Motorcycle Club, a club known for putting together creative loops that will test riders of all skill levels. Both bikes and ATVs are welcome for this event. Youth riders will race on Saturday, and Adults will race on Sunday. Pre-entry is open, and will close on Wednesday at midnight.
In 2019, we watched a season-long battle with Off-Road Support’s Jacob Argubright and Factory Beta rider Joe Wasson, with Argubright being crowned as the champ as it came down to the last round. For 2020, both Argubright and Wasson will return, in addition to an impressive lineup of off-road specialists, such as Preston Campbell, Axel Pearson, Zane Roberts, Dalton Shirey and more.
The future of off-road has an exciting season in store, and Desert MC has crafted a special course for the littlest racers of our series. Youth will race on Saturday before enjoying a podium ceremony of their own.
On Saturday night, there will be a Slow Race in the pits from 5 to 6 p.m. So bring your slowest bike and best balancing skills. From 6 to 9 p.m., there will be a live band near registration.
Racers of the Desert MC Winter Classic can expect to cross vast open valleys, dry lake beds, technical trails, rocky obstacles and fun flowing sand washes. The region typically sees an abundance of moisture leading up to the event, and this year [possible even] snow!
