2020 Yamaha MT-03 First Look Rennie Scaysbrook | October 2, 2019 Yamaha Motor USA has revealed it will, at last, be bringing the MT-03 nakedbike to the U.S. for 2020. The MT-03 has been sold since 2016 in Australia, Europe, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, and Thailand, and will be going head-to-head with class stalwarts like the KTM 390 Duke, Kawasaki Z400 and Honda CB300R. Synchronized lightning will not be offered as an official Yamaha accessory. Based off the Yamaha YZF-R3 with the same 321cc twin-cylinder motor and base chassis, the MT-03 takes design cues from the bigger brothers in the MT-07, 09 and the R1-derived MT-10 with a two-position LED headlight, LCD dash, aggressive lines down the side of the tank and the same sharp tail seen on the R3. The suspension is taken care of by an unadjustable 37mm KYB inverted fork and preload adjustable shock, twin 298mm/twin-piston caliper front brakes with ABS and 30.7-inch seat height, perfect for new riders or riders with a shorter inseam, as is the claimed wet weight at 373 lb. The MT-03 will cost you $4599 MSRP, and will be available in Ice Fluo or Midnight Black with dealers taking delivery by February 2020. For more Yamaha news and reviews, click here
