Justin Barcia Out For Atlanta Supercross

Justin Barcia will sit out the Atlanta Supercross this weekend, March 2, 2019. The Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Team rider crashed today, Wednesday, February 27, while training at his compound in Florida. According to the team, Barcia is currently being evaluated for a concussion. And, as a precautionary measure, he will not compete this weekend in Atlanta.
Injury Will Keep Justin Barcia Sidelined At Atlanta Supercross
“The news of Justin’s accident this morning is a real pity, but our main concern is Justin’s health and recovery,” said Jim Perry, the team’s racing manager. “Following the Concussion Protocol, we hope that Justin will be back to 100% and cleared to participate soon.”
Barcia just finished seventh overall at the Detroit Supercross. He is currently sixth in the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship point standings.
He was just getting back up to speed after suffering a bruised tailbone at the San Diego Supercross on February 2.
