Throwback Thursday: Franco Uncini Wins at the Salzburgring

In this week’s Throwback we dialed the wayback machine 36 years to 1982 and the Salzburgring in Austria. It was a huge day for Italian Franco Uncini. Uncini scored his very first 500cc Grand Prix victory that day aboard his factory-backed Team Gallina Suzuki RG500. Here Uncini offers up a swig of champagne to runner up Barry Sheene. Third-place finisher Kenny Roberts awaits his drink. Uncini went on to win five GPs that season on his way to winning the 1982 World Championship.
