Nearly 1300 racers turned out at Glen Helen Raceway this past weekend for the 33rd Annual Dubya World Vet Motocross Championships. Racers from 25 different U.S. States and 20 different nations contributed to the record-breaking attendance numbers, and ensured that the 32 different race classes would be filled with bar-to-bar action over the course of this two-day event.
Saturday’s race action was highlighted by the 40+ Pro class. Mike Brown started his weekend off in style, winning both motos on his way to the class title. Mike was joined on the podium by Doug Dubach in second and Kenjiro Tsuji in third.

On Sunday, former Pro Supercross and Motocross racer Brett Metcalfe would claim run the gamut in the 30+ Pro class by winning both motos to take the championship. Mike Brown was back on the box here, this time with second place honors, while Jason Potter took third.

The final Pro races of the weekend would see the multi-time champ Doug Dubach get the job done in the 50+ Pro class. Dubach won both motos on his way to overall victory and was joined by Kurt Nicoll in second and Keith Bowen in third place.

Malcolm Smith accepts the Edison Dye Lifetime Achievement Award
Each year at the event, the Edison Dye MX Lifetime Achievement Award is presented to a deserving individual for their lifelong dedication and contributions to the sport of MX racing. This year’s recipient was the legendary Malcolm Smith, and all of us here at Dubya USA can’t think of a person more deserving that Malcolm Smith.
