In this week’s Throwback we head back to Loudon, New Hampshire’s Bryar Motorsports Park for the 1988 AMA 600 Supersport Series by Vance & Hines. This photo captures perfectly the intensity as the pack heads into the first turn. The race turned into a wheel-to-wheel battle between David Sadowski (No. 4) and Jamie James (No. 58), both on Suzuki Katana 600s. It all came down to the final turn. James tried to go around the outside of “Ski” and ended up hitting the deck. It was Sadowski’s first Supersport victory and he did it, appropriately enough, at his home track. Other notables in the photo include Mike Harth (No. 88), Doug Polen (No. 23), Scott Russell (No. 22), Mike Smith (No. 19) and John Ashmead (No. 37). Polen went on to win that year’s Supersport title over Ashmead and Sadowski.
