This is a press release from Bell Helmets…
Scotts Valley, CA (March 29, 2016) – Bell Helmets, an industry leader in helmet technology and innovation, announced that it will be an official sponsor of the Lucas Oil JuniorMotoX – Indoor Amateur Motocross – to be held inside the Lazy E Arena in Guthrie, Oklahoma on May 12-14, 2016.
The JuniorMotoX is an Indoor Amateur Motocrossstyle event that is limited to riders 18 years and younger.
“This is a unique event that has been missing on the Amateur Motocross schedule,” explained Rob Salcedo, Marketing Manager for Bell Powersports. “The successful transition from outdoor to indoor tracks takes some time and the JuniorMotoX will help introduce Amateurs riders to a different skillset to eventually race at the professional Arenacross and Supercross level.
Bell’s Groundbreaking Moto-9 Flex and future Bell 360fly Moto-9 Flex will be on Display for riders to see first hand.
Bell Helmets will be at the Lazy E Arena event to provide support for all Bell Helmet riders. All attendees will have the opportunity to check out the Moto-9 Flex first hand plus take a look at the future Bell 360fly “Smart” helmet.
“The Bell Moto-9 Flex is worn by the top Supercross and Motocross racers in the world and is also the helmet of choice for numerous Amateur racers,” continued Salcedo. “To be part of this event is a natural fit for Bell Helmets. We encourage all of our support riders to join us at the JuniorMotoX.”
“Bell Helmets is one of our industry’s most iconic and popular brands,” said Eric Peronnard, co-creator of the JuniorMotoX. “Its involvement with our event solidifies our concept that indoor racing at the Amateur level is a move in the right direction.”
Moto-9 Flex manages energy across a wide array of impact scenarios with its progressive layering system, which utilizes three densities of foam for low, mid, and high-speed impacts. The helmet also has a “slip zone” in the liner, which gives subtle movement between the layers designed to reduce rotation energy transfer from some angular impacts. Riders will also find comfort with the “Adaptive Fit” system, which uses a segmented EPO layer to conform to the rider’s head, plus the helmet incorporates a Velocity Flow Ventilation system, designed to give maximum ventilation and temperature control.
The Bell 360fly “Smart” Helmet: Bell Helmets introduces (release date to be announced) a new 360-degree video-integrated “Smart” helmet created in conjunction with 360fly camera to be integrated into the Moto-9 Flex. This helmet allows 360-degree 4K video capture, mobile editing and sharing, and additional digital capabilities. The camera has built-in Wifi and Bluetooth connectivity, so you can easily share the videos you shoot. They will also be equipped with a GPS sensor, so you can tag locations, plus a barometer-altimeter. The camera can also be detached from the helmet and used separately.
