Jeff Matiasevich To Be Honored At San Diego 1 Supercross
Kit Palmer | January 14, 2016
The 2016 Legends and Heroes Supercross Moto Museum Tour, now in its seventh year with the Monster Energy Supercross series, returns to San Diego’s Petco Park. San Diego 1 Supercross will be honoring Jeff Matiasevich, two-time AMA Western Regional Supercross Champion and Japan Supercross Champion.
If you frequent any of the major tracks in Southern California you may have seen Jeff Matiasevich out there pounding laps and not known it. The former Team Green sensation is still an avid motocross rider in the Southern California area, and gets out several times a week on his Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki.
Matiasevich’s career spanned from 1986 to 1998. A former “Team Green” rider Jeff moved up to the pro ranks in 1988 and immediately won back-to-back 125 western regional Supercross championships for Kawasaki in 1988 and 1989. In 1995 he was picked up by the Kawasaki factory team and contracted to race the Japanese national championship, which he handily won.
Jeff Matiasevich will be at the Legends and Heroes Moto Museum display this Saturday afternoon at the Monster Energy Party in the Pits at SD 1 Supercross for a meet and greet with the fans. He will be presented the coveted Legends and Heroes Award by six-time AMA champion Broc Glover on the Monster Energy Supercross podium Saturday evening.
