East Rutherford, NJ (April 25, 2015) – Eli Tomac once again posted the fastest time in practice during today’s qualifying rounds for the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series in MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, which is round 16 of the 17-round series.
The GEICO Honda rider was smooth and precise and nearly a full second faster then the second-fastest qualifier, Ryan Dungey, who turned a 54.404, compared to Tomac’s 53. Team Honda HRC Cole Seely was third, with a 54, edging out longtime rival and Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Husqvarna Racer Jason Anderson by three-tenths of a second.
Rounding out the top five was N-Fab/Toyota/JGR Yamaha’s Weston Peick, who posted a 55.119.
Meanwhile, in the 250 class, series points leader Marvin Musquin put his Red Bull KTM into the the top spot during qualifying, turning a 55.080 in the second session, which would have seeded te Red Bull KTM rider third among the 450 riders.
Second in the 250 class went to Yamalube/Star Racing’s Jeremy Martin with a 55.522, while Joey Savatgy rounded out the top three with a 55.805.
Fourth was defending East Regional champ Justin Bogle with a 55.966, while his GEICO Honda teammate, RJ Hampshire, was fifth fastest with a 57.384.
