Video: Gautier Paulin, Jeffrey Herlings Sweep Grand Prix of Europe Motocross

Cycle News Staff | March 27, 2015

Honda’s Gautier Paulin swept round five of the FIM Motocross World Championship in Valkenswaard, Holland, April 26. It was Paulin’s first overall win of the 2015 season and his first on the Honda team.

Points leader, Husqvarna’s Max Nagl was second overall, followed by Suzuki’s Clement Desalle. Defending champ, Red Bull KTM’s Antonio Cairoli crashed out of the first moto and finished seventh in the second. He now trails Nagl by 30 points while still holding down second.

Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Ryan Villopoto did not suit up for the race. He announced the day before that he was going to sit this one out after injuring his tailbone the previous week in Italy.

In MX2 action, Red Bull KTM’s Jeffrey Herlings also pulled off a sweep to claim the win over French rider Jordi Tixier (Kawasaki) and Russian Aleksandr Tonkov (Husqvarna).
