Video: 2015 KENDA Full Gas Sprint Enduro Round 1

Cycle News Staff | February 27, 2015

FMF KTM’s Kailub Russell took a narrow win at the first round of the 2015 KENDA Full Gas Enduro Series in Gaston, South Carolina. The unique format of the Full Gas Sprint Enduro featured two different tests – a 3.5-mile enduro special test and a 3-mile “cross” test similar to what you’d find at an ISDE or World Enduro Championship. The racing – spread out over two days – put the riders on each test three different times on each day, spread out by 20-second intervals, making for a total of 12 special tests throughout the course of the weekend.

Russell took the narrow win over FMF/N-Fab AmPro Yamaha’s Daniel Milner. The field included a long list of top off road racers including Josh Strang (3rd), Jordan Ashburn (4th), Grant Baylor (7th), Russell Bobbitt (8th) and Andrew DeLong (9th).  This made relatively unknown riders Layne Michael’s 5th and Tegan Temple’s 6th place finishes very impressive.
