The Americans are off to a good start on the opening day of the International Six Days Enduro in San Juan, Argentina.

Although it will be later tonight before the official results are posted, with all six special tests in the books, US World Trophy Team member Taylor Robert is sitting second in the E3 division and fourth overall, unofficially.

The factory KTM rider was second fastest to Australian Matthew Phillips in test one; with newly crowned GNCC champ Kailub Russell sitting a close fifth.

In test two, Robert finished fourth behind Frenchman Christophe Nambotin, Aussie Toby Price, and Spaniard Ivan Cervantes. West Virginia’s Thad DuVall was the next best American in 10th.

Robert was fourth again in the third test, behind Nambotin, Phillips, and Frenchman Pierre-Alexandre Renet. Kailub Russell was sixth this time with FMF/KTM’s Charlie Mullins in 11th.

Russell dropped to seventh in the fourth test, with Russell in 11th, however, in test five, Russell had his best finish of the day in third, with Robert in sixth.

The sixth and final test saw Robert finishing out the day in fourth position, making him one of the most consistent riders of the day. Meanwhile, US team captain Mike Brown cracked the top 10 for the first time all day with a 10th place finish, one spot ahead of Mullins.

Zack Osborne got off to a great start with a seventh in test one, however, the Supercross star is also showing a two-minute-17-second penalty from the third control, which will likely be explained after tonight’s jury meeting.

The official results will come later tonight but just looking at the tests results it appears that Toby Price and Taylor Robert are sitting first and second in the E3 class, and third and fourth overall, respectively.

Kailub Russell sits seventh overall, with Mullins in ninth. Unofficially, Mike Brown and DuVall are 13th and 14th overall, respective.

In the Junior Trophy division, US rider Justin Jones is sitting second among all Junior riders, and 15th overall.

Rachel Gutish is top American in the Women’s division, sitting fourth in class, while teammates Sarah Baldwin and Mandi Mastin are fifth and seventh.

More to come tonight.
